Nice pictures... watercooling does look a bit messy though. What is the little display above the DVD?

Fan controller for the new rad. The temp probe I stuck on the side of the NB heatsink is working fine, but the one I stuck to the CPU WB isn't reading, and I'll be damned if I'm ripping it apart right now to try to fix it..... :)

Ah... I am thinking about adding a fan controller just for the cool factor. I am a gadget sucker and the added shiny is just a plus! Anyone own one of these and have an opinion?

Scythe "KAZE MASTER" Fan Controller
Scythe Kaze Master 5.25IN Bay Fan Controller Backlit VFD Display Fan Temp Black - DirectCanada

I have the blue LED fans in the front of my Antec 900 so it fits.

I just installed the 3.5" Kaze and I'm happy with it so far. I especially like the strong current rating on the channels (1A) which allows for chaining up to 4 fans / channel depending on the rating of the fan.

That's my baby. I suspect overheating will knacker it some day. NVmonitor reads 91 centigrade.

I just installed a Sunbeam Rheobus Extreme 6 port controller in my Antec 300. I picked it up because of the extra cable adapters it comes with compared to the 4 port controller they sell. It is rated at 30A per channel, which is huge isn't it?

Not sure my calculations are correct:

30amps / 12volts = 2.5watts?

I am always short of fan adapters that have an RPM wire along with the standard 3pin extension. I am still short a couple, with this unit. I'll have to make some up myself I guess.

Comparing the two, the Sunbeam Rheobus 4 port is a much nicer unit. The knobs are much much better quality, and the face plate is bare aluminum. Conversely, the Sunbeam Rheobus Extreme 6 port has a plastic cover on the face plate which makes it look, well, plastic. It also shows fingerprints worse than the bare aluminum. Lastly, the fan knobs are crappy plastic, and seem loose and wiggley. One thing these knobs do is dim the LED light depending on how fast you have the fan running -- where the 4 port unit simply switches to red instead of blue when you hit the halfway mark. I like this better, as I am more used to it and the LEDs are much much brighter. When you turn the knobs all the way down, there is a satisfying click on the 4 port unit and the fan is turned off completely -- nice to have in many situations. Turning the knobs all the way down in the 6 port unit only slows the fans down to minimum, there is no click and you cannot turn the fans completely off with some fans.

I would return or exchange the 6 port controller, except that I do need the extra two ports -- once I have a couple more RPM adapter wires.

In the future, I will stick to the 4 port unit, for sure.

One of the older Zalman units comes with an impressive assortment of wire adapters, I may look for one just for the cables.

I looked at a lot of other offerings available today, but the price on the Sunbeams and my satisfaction with their 4 port units won me over. The Scythe controllers tempted me, they are certainly nice. I'd like to get a 3.5" size for another system eventually, but later for that.

Power = Amps x Voltage. P=IV.

So 30Ax12V = 360 watts. That's a lot that they could control.

Heh... a 30A channel is indeed a bit of overkill considering the majority of fans are going to run between .25 and .4 of an amp. :)
