Default Phanteks Enthoo Evolv ATX build.

Hello,
Well to start with it has been about 6-8 years since my last build of a pc & its probably somewhere in the attic. since not using that just been stuck with a laptop and been on console's for gaming which I regret now...dam I've missed PC gaming so much. Got the urge last year to build a PC and get back into the right way of gaming again, but then I ended up getting married, and the costs linked to that had to put build on hold. It just got to the stage where I just had to do & here it finally is!:D
I've got a lot to learn along with the way, haha already got a few issues with it. I'll mention the little bugs I have with it in another tread, will keep this tread positive. I think their just driver related/windows 10 issues.

The Build: -
Phanteks Enthoo Evolv ATX Mid Tower Case - Black - Basically hardwarecanucks youtube channel made my mind up about case. Adore it!

Intel Core i7-6700K

Asus Maximus VIII Formula Intel Z170 - Tiny Tom mate, sold me on this one! Looks gorgeous.

Corsair Dominator Platinum 32GB (4x8GB) DDR4

EVGA GeForce GTX 980Ti Classified

EVGA SuperNova P2 1000W

Samsung 500GB 850 EVO SSD - For OS & a few programs.

Samsung 1.0TB 850 EVO SSD - For games, video etc.

Asus PG279Q ROG Swift 27" 2560x1440 IPS G-Sync 165Hz
Gaming Widescreen LED Monitor - LOVING THIS.

NZXT KRAKEN X61

Corsair White LED fans for front intake, back exhaust & SP ones for the radiator.

Steelseries QCK XXL Mouse Pad

NZXT Grid+ Version 2 Internal Digital 6 Fan Controller

Corsair Gaming K70 RGB Cherry MX Brown Mechanical Keyboard

Mionix Castor USB Optical Gaming Mouse

Microsoft Windows 10

CableMod E-Series G2 & P2 Cable Kit - Black

Astro A40 Wired Headset - Will do for now, got it cheap new on gumtree. not really feeling the sounds quality.

Razer Headphone Stand

Album Link - PC Pictures to upload. - Album on Imgur

My System Specs

Default

Nothing to complain about in that system, wowy, looks great! I've been looking hard at an Enthoo Evolv ATX case for a while now myself. Nice to see some more pics of one "in the wild"!

And the grand total price for the system was...?? No don't answer that. I don't wanna know!

I'm not sure why their arent more builds with this case yet. It looks epic mate! I'd say stop the looking and grab one to be honest. It was other this one or the NZXT 440 razer edition, which my mate has so I went to see his. It does look good but compared to the Phanteks case in my opinion their was only one winner in the end. Plus I have not seen many builds with it so I thought why not just have a go with it. I went with black cause pretty much everything I have got in the room in black.

Errrr yeah the price! haha wife only knows a 3rd of the cost basically. She's thinking wow what great value for money. I just take that as a compliment during the time thinking yeah I have got a bargin haha. Just over £3000 in the end.

£3000... We with shallower pockets salute you Sir!! Awesome system indeed, in every way! You might want to rectify the wife only knowing a 3rd of the cost issue though, that could come back to bite you!

My delay on the Evolv ATX is just it isn't necessary for my system, and the CAD to USD exchange is terrible right now so in Canada the Evolv is topping the $270-275 CAD mark, not on sale. I have a Corsair 650D right now that is doing the job fine so that much money for just a fun rebuild doesn't make much sense. But still looking just the same!

I have an EVGA 980 Classified and I love it. I haven't even tried overclocking it yet, sacrilege to some I'm sure but it is handling everything I play at it's factory overclocks. The 980 Ti Classified will be very impressive I would expect!

Congrats again on the build!

Dont get to build a PC that often so just get the best you can within budget. Haha i did think that but i got her a new car, cake mixing machine and the rug she wanted so she's happy with all that. Trying to persuade her to ditch the PS4 now and learn games on here.

Yeah that's steep exchange rate, not really worth it for that cost. I managed to get a small overclock on it, but not massive. max i've got is 1492mhz so far, but it has been so long since overclocking I pretty much learning everything again, but it is so quiet!

Smile Thought u might appreciate a fellow evolv atx owners 1 of a kind PC as thnx 4 sharing

So i dont usually post up any build logs on forums but have always been curious if its something based on my latest work that ppl would actually really want to see and i might just start up some logs on forums on top of the constant facebook and flickr updating i currently do with my pc building.
The build is a completely one of a kind modded from the ground up enthoo evolv atx case but to suite my eccentric needs and wants for an amazing level of aesthetics and high level of performance, at least for the price points and age of all the components.

By the way love your build not trying to undermine you or anything i just thought you might enjoy seeing something as exotic as this in the sense that its a much older build with what id love to be able to call next gen surgical makeover taking it to an unbelievable level for what it started as. It began in a cooler master HAF ATX, before becoming an nzxt switch 810, then a noctis 450 and resulting in what id call the best case on the market, our evolv atx cases.

Anyways without further to do heres a build based on a portal (the video game) theme i found online, then i made my own by gutting this most amazing of cases.
Sorry if flickr is an issue but it has a catalog of all my pix for the build but ios uploads cut off descipts thinking they were titles.

https://www.flickr.com/gp/sparktite/1v7X4L

I actually have the build down atm as im expanding from two individual loops to one entire loop and some of the basic principles are a lil wacky like having 2 swiftech AIOs and a gutted swiftech h series coolers motor attached to an xspc res so that i could stop worrying about bleeding, and avoid the pain that is refilling those AIO units.

Im also still workshopping my draining and filling optimization to lessen future maintenance. The build is aimed towards using the least number of different metals and components that could cause any conflictions or issues. However ive found that plasticizer is a non issue if understood, and ekoolant does not have any issues that it itself causes in loops, and finally i am also trapped in a setup where i cant choose all copper parts or all nickel parts especially with fitting usually being made of brass and in my case all of the ones ive switched back to.

So to be completely honest im rather delighted with my self made completely one of a kind build(this being my first attempt too), and impressed with the essentially negligible risks involved combining the components being used and being added in the rebuild.

Not to mention this build has been treating me so well since the day it was conceived years ago when i started with a single gtx 780ti, an Asus R4E, i73960x, corsair vengeance(1866), the same corsair ax1200i and a samsung 840. Still using the 840 with an 850 evo for dual booting windows. Replaced the ram with corsair dom 32gb (2133), cpu with an i74930k , and sadly the rampage extremes were too faulty and i was forced to move to an RIVGene

And as a little treat in case ur still reading and havent noticed the PC build theme is based on the portal games and inspired by BrenanTalley's portal 2 themed build Portal 2 Aperture Science Rig - Album on Imgur

Sorry for any mistakes as ive been up for over 36 hours now working. And if youd like any info on how any of the modding was done im more than happy to share exactly what was used and how it was used.

EDIT: Sorry the pix seem very big pls tell me if they are and how i can fix it to be more eyeball firendly
