Default Chieftec Dragon revival \ new build

Well I decided to take my old dragon case out of storage I bought this case back in 1999 back when a Pentium 3 was the king of the hill...

The following changes will be made to the case replace the 2x 80mm front fans with 1x 140mm fan. replace the side window 80mm fan with a 120mm fan, inside of the case will be painted black and add USB 3.0 support.

Here's the hardware that's going in the case

Intel Core I7-5820K
MSI X99S SLI Plus ATX LGA2011 X99
16 GB DDR4 2400mhz
Geforce GTX 980
3x SSD's
1200W Antec PSU

Here's a pic with the front 140mm fan installed

I look forward to seeing this beast back in action.

What are your plans for the rear exhaust fans? Just two low-noise 80mm (or 92, w/e the back cutouts are)?

This should be a very interesting build. I haven't seen one of those cases in years. Are you going to do any modifications to the exterior?

[QUOTE=JerrysPCBuilds;783658] I haven't seen one of those cases in years. [QUOTE] I got one at home, got it a few years ago, lost the HDD cages however, my supermicro 2p opteron board would not fit with them.

I remember when Alienware was using these back in 2002.

Here's a quick update, frame painted flat black. Next step install new plexy glass side window and drill hole for 120mm fan.

The rear fan will just be 2x 80mm for now.

What are your 80mm fans like for sound? I've got a pair of ARX FD1280 fans that came out of an old Lian Li kicking around that you could have if you want. They've been sitting in a bin for quite a few years, but seems to me they were relatively quiet.

If you're interested, drop me a PM.
