New hardware arrived today... I was looking for a reasonably priced mid range bundle and decided on a mITX motherboard that I can move into a mITX case I've got waiting in the wings for my next build. Maybe there'll be some decent deals on S 1150 procs when the next round of intel chips drop... ;)

Pretty happy with the way most of the cabling managed to go especially considering the weird placement of some of the MB headers. The only hiccup was with the case control / lighting cables... they're too short so I've just got an old case harness in it's place for now until I get around to splicing in some wire to lengthen the cable.

Anybody need a 2.5' long case light/control cable? Apparently I did when I decided to use a mITX motherboard in this case... Strangely enough, the wire I scrounged up to splice into the existing cable came from the case fans of another inwin case I reviewed eons ago. :)

In hindsight, staggering the splices was the way to go, but I should have been a lot further back on the splice closest to the plugs to prevent the stiff heatshrink from affecting installation of the plugs.

The loop's installed and currently bleeding. Noisy as all heck right now, but betting progressively better. As per the initial plan, it is removable as one piece if I'm going to be swapping hardware, but (not according to the initial plan) the internal runs are so short that it's more convenient to leave it attached when connecting cables to the rear which says a hell of a lot considering how bloody inconvenient that is.... ;)

Cable routing is all done, but I still need to securing it all into place, and will post pics of the completed project once that's done and we get some sunshine. :)

Thanks for looking.

After multiple delays for hardware swaps, a mucked up MB bios, case control cable splicing, a couple of leaks (first one right off the bat during leaktesting... second one after doing cable management that managed to slow drip onto the MB causing reboots... but fortunately no apparent damage), skinned knuckles, and quite a few choice words, I've finally got it complete.

After killing (maybe only partially) the second Socket 1366 MB I tried to fit into the case I ended up ordering a mITX MB thinking that it would give me more room to work with in a tight case (I've also got a place for an overclocking MB in a later build), but the mITX format also meant that cables designed for atx format motherboards were too short. Pretty neat little package now that it's been muscled into there though.

This is what I finally ended up with for my rad install. Not the prettiest looking install, but it's functional and seems to be giving me some decent temps considering it's a single. I had initially hoped to do a full internal install by modding the case, but not only does the internal design make that problematic, I ultimately couldn't bring myself to take a dremel to such a beautiful case. :)

If I had to, it's designed so that I can remove the loop as one piece without having to break the seal, but it would still be a PITA to do because of the short internal tubing.

It's a bit of work getting everything to go exactly where you want it, but this case does offer a pretty clean look once it's there. I was pretty impressed with the included clamps, and while I don't think I've got the patience to do a sleeving job, I cheated by using a couple of Bitfenix extensions. :)

Not much to say other than how much I love the clean lines of this case, and I'm hoping I didn't muck that image up too badly by slapping a custom loop onto the rear of it. The mini-res worked great, but my intention is to run it for a week or so to get all of the micro bubbles out and then I'm going to do away with the clear tubing or at the very least cut it down substantially.

Oh... and btw... yes you can actually see inside the case if you look closely, and ignore the reflections. ;)

Anywise... going to stick a fork in this one and call it done. Thanks for looking.

Initial temps are in for the loop.

This hardware is all new to me, and I've never played with Haswell so I have no frame of reference but 4670 @ 4.2 core / 4.0 Ring 1.275V (VCore) I'm getting 26C Idle / 62C Max after 40 minutes of the MSI Intel Extreme Tuning Utility @ 22C ambient.

Temps sound good.

I think I would Have rotated the Rad 90 Degrees right or left Edit : with the RAD .

Looks good but keep an eagle eye on your minni rez fore a bit.

As in having the ports on one side of the case or the other? Or as in having the ports on top, but mounting via a rad edge as opposed to fan side? Can't quite picture what orientation you're suggesting.

As far as the res goes... yeah it'll be staying that way for a week or so, but as it stands I'm not seeing any micro bubbles and the level has been stable for 24 hours+.

Rotate Left 90 Degrees and flip 180 so ports face back.

Apogee Drive II on the CPU if you want to get fancy.

Nice ass it is.
