Hi Everyone!

It has been a while since the last update but thing has been crazy lately with work and the end of my basketball season. But this morning I started working on it and things has been going well.

So before I go to sleep, here's a summary of my day

I started the day with the sleeving of the 12 Helix fans.
Then the cleaning of the rads. On this subject I must say something about the Darkside radiators. I always clean my new rads with the "shaking dance" solution and with the Alphacool, when I bought them a while ago I remember that after about 6 shaking/flush runs they would still spit junk. The Darksides today....the third run was almost unnecessary on both of them. And what did come out of them during a first and second run was so tiny it was ridiculous. I love those rads!!!!

After that, I started to build the pedestal. In the pedestal goes the 2 Alphacool rads, the fan controller velcro'd to the floor and the second PSU which will power the fans, the fan controller and the pump.
The tubing run in the pedestal is done by traditionnal flex tubing. As you will see in the pictures, there's no "art" down there since it won't be seen by anyone except in the pictures below

After the pedestal, I did install the 2 Darkside rads in the main case, did one gpu block, all 4 ram heatspreaders and the ram block installation.

Here goes the pictures!

Building of the pedestal

Front and side Darkside radiators installation

GPU waterblock before and after

RAM EK Monarch Modules installation...sorry no pictures with the waterblock installed until tomorrow

I should be able to update a few things tomorrow before Mother's Day dinner...but no promises.

On another topic, recently I did struggle with my coolant selection, color accent sleeving and even the name of the build. The results of all those things are...

For the coolant selection, at first I was going with a custom Mayhems X1 Clear with a purple/violet dye recipe...but it was not what I was looking for. So my second choice was the one that got selected and it's Mayhems X1 Oil Black.

For the color accent in the sleeving, at first it was suppose to be MDPC-X Purple but when I ditched the matching coolant I decided to try another idea which was Darkside Lava Red. It's an awesome sleeve but the match with the 2 other colors didn't turns out like I imagined it. So I will stay with my first option (MDPC-X Purple) for now.

For the name, even if now I don't really feel like the original theme of the build will still stand, I really like the name of the build and this one will stand.

Enough writing...i'm going to bed
Take care!

This week I did some little work on the look of the motherboard since the red needed to go.

So I did some whitening and blackening on parts of the motherboard, the ssd, ram block and also cpu mountings.

I also did finish to install the waterblocks on the graphics cards.

Tonight I did polish the sides of the ram and cpu block since they are a bit frosted originally.

It's not Lowfat's level but it's a big improvement from what it was originally

Tomorrow I will take some pictures of the board and the gpu's inside the case. Probably set the pump/res placement and then it's sleeving time. Since I re-using some cables that I already had in the Mountain Mods, I only have to do the 24-pins and also add some purple sleeve in the cpu and pcie cables.

Should be able to update tomorrow

To do a good job, i would have to unsolder the connector....which i won't do. Or mask the hell out of the motherboard.

I think it will stay black

Hi,

Here's a quick summary of my weekend work on the build.

Every blocks are in place, the pump/res placement is determine as well as the loop route.

I did 99% of the sleeving. In fact i just need one sata power cable and one molex cable to sleeve and it's done so it will be quickly done tomorrow night.

I'm almost ready to start the loop but I need to do one last order at Daz for some more adapters, more coolant and also a white D5 dressing kit.

On the sleeving part, I decided to put MDPC Purple only on the pcie cables and the 24pin. The cpu cables and the extra power cable for the pci lanes are just white and shade19. This way the color accent is focused at only one place inside the case and the rest stay neutral (which I like). The 6X 8pins pcie cables are a hell to manage!!!!!!!!!! I still don't know what i'm gonna do with them.

Here's a few pictures taken tonight...sorry for the boring lighting

Next update later this week...
