Smile Redemption

Hello everyone. This is going to be a full out modification of my current case, Fractal DD XL R2. I am going to make it look different with respect to colour and features. I will be putting a 360mm rad up top using a Koolance shroud, 360mm rad at the bottom , move the PSU outside of the case and hang it on the back and modifying the front along with the door itself.

Smile Rendering

Here are some of the rendering that I have done.

The top as I mentioned will house the 360 mm rad with push/pull and independent pump and res for CPU, RAM, Chipsets. The bottom area will also house a 360 mm rad with push/pull if possible and independent rad and res for the cards. The front will have 2x140 mm intake fans.

The back will contain the PSU. I will have the wires hidden using a cover and they will pop up wherever they are needed. The front door I want to incorporate some sort of a design that will use a soft white LED. The left side will have a large clear acrylic window.

I'll try my best not to ruin the case. I am wondering if I should paint the fans or leave them the way they are. Or get more Scythe GT AP-15 and paint those.

I say "paint away" but I tend to paint everything.

I do know that it has to be done very carefully especially on the blades . . . if you get too much build up on the blades in one spot it can throw them off balance. Light coats are the key

Smile Changing top radiator!

I have decided to put just a 240mm rad up top but I will still use the shroud that I ordered from FrozenCPU for it and the bottom will contain the 360mm rad. Save money towards more fans since I have to buy 5 more Noctua NF-P12 120 mm fans. I can wait for the stuff to get here so I can take the PC apart and start working on it.

Thanks FF. I am currently waiting for my order from FrozenCPU to arrive. It cleared customs pretty quick and Canada Post has had it since 6am but no one is here yet and I got things to do lol. I just placed an order to Daz for the 360 mm rad, rad guard, EKWB pre-assembled D5 and fan controll Y cable (6 fans for push/pull). I can't wait to get started tomorrow.
