Need help with modding basics/tools :3
Hey guys. I need to buy some tools to start my modding work. Dremel, a heatgun and a jigsaw are the basics.
Also what bits are useful?
Any certain models, types, things I should be aware of?
Thanks for your time in advance
Dremel tools are easy... generally they come with everything you need, but if not, Princess Auto or Canadian Tire have kits which include everything you'll ever imagine needing for bits. What you will probably need to replace are the circular cutting wheels, they break easily.
On top of all that, do yourself a favour and buy yourself a set of both standard and jewelers' files. Much easier to come up with a nice clean edge/cut when you cut "long" and then file down to size.
Well Im located in the US. Is a dremel ok for window mods? I want a clean cut.
As I suggested, a Dremel will cut fine, but if you want the best possible clean edge you'll use the dremmel for a rough cut and then file the edge down to a clean line.
For your Dremel make sure you get the Dremel EZ Lock Kit | Canadian Tire for cutting disks. Note alot of people just buy the cheap job mate version for $15 and Dremel bits.
You might want to add a power drill and drill index.
I find a jigsaw with a 24 tpi blade works better than a dremel for large cuts. You'll still need to file when done.

Do you have all the basic hand tools? I know myself I need to get pin disconnectors. Invest in a good pair of wire strippers and a crimper as well.
Just don't get the job mate bits the wear out in no time or just break before use.
still say it needs a sticky
A riveter will come handy for case modding. They are very cheap at Canadian tire or any hardware store. About 10-20 bucks.
