Default Upgrading Over The Years

I was browsing through some old pictures and thought it'd be fun to compile a set of images of the changes my desktop has gone through over the years. It's interesting to see the small changes over the years and where parts I've bought or sold from HWC or RFD members have ended up. I've ended up with a pretty nice rig that I'm more than happy with and I have this awesome community to thank for helping me get to here.

2008: E6700, 2GB, 8800GS, 320GB

2009: Pretty much the same. Except the super loud Seagate 7200.10 320GB got stuck into an acoustic foam lined box

2010: i7 860, P7P55D Pro, 4GB G.Skill,(CPU/mobo from LCDGuy) Same old 7200.10, Hyper 212 and a Powercolor 4890 with a broken fan (Went to Kativo I think?)

2010(July): Replaced 4890 with SLI 9600GSO (Thanks SSWilson) I'm pretty sure I went through 8 variants of gso's when I was folding.

2010: (Sept)MSI 465GE flashed to 470 from NCIX's first ontario store sale.
2010: (Dec)Noctua D14 and WD 2TB
2011: Intel X25 80GB (Thanks for the Intel Retail Edge lpfan)

And here we are today in 2012. Nothing has changed except an AX750 (from that sketchy warehouse place in Toronto chrisk went to ) and going through tons(20+) of fans to end up on Scythe GT's

Nothing has changed in the past 2 years since 470 SLI seems to be capable of handling 1080p but who knows what Haswell will bring next year if I get that upgrade itch

I feel like your PC has had a very smooth life. I rip everything apart and have something new so frequently it makes me admirable of the long termers

Cool!!!!

Those GSOs contributed a hell of a lot of WUs for HWC, and I'm pretty sure they're the cards that "burnt" the 12V line on the motherboard/PSU connector. :)

I also believe that one of them (not sure if you got all of them or not) ended up having the plastic of the cooler shrouds melted by a cheap spray contact cleaner I got from Princess Auto. :)

I started off with an old HP pre built with a Q6600 I purchased in around 2008 or 2009 I can't remember. I had upgraded the video card and power supply when Darkfail Online released. Then I built this my first home build sometime after Starcraft 2.

Then months later after my PC addiction grew....

Then the shinobi!

and now....

I have a switch 810 in progress...

Haha I know my photography is not exactly what you would call "photography" lol. I bet a 4 year old with a polariod could take better pics then me.

No more unsightly cheesy colored LED fans for me!
