^ cause they paid me big money

Thanks for the posts Guys! I look forward to playing PS2 when this is finished

I contacted my friend Karl, at KarL'z Vinyl GraFIX about making a custom window applique for the case. The applique would be made from transparent frosted vinyl, so it looks etched into the window.

Karl made the Gaming Evolved and RADEON window etch appliques for my DiRT Showdown PC.

Finished installation of Turbine Intake last night. I envisioned something evocative of heavy duty power equipment, with lines connecting to the sides that look hydraulic hoses.

For the Corsair's H100 radiator, I'm using two 120mm Modders Mesh fan grills for the custom 240 machined aluminum grill. Here are the steps I took in painting them to match the grill frame.

I'm using 3M RED Scotchbrite hand pads for cleaning and scuffing the grills for a primer base coat.

For the Primer coat, I used RUST-OLEUM Enamel Primer. It's available from Home Depot or LOWES, in Black, Red or Grey color. I used Black

After the RUST-OLEUM Primer has cured for 30 minutes, I applied the color coat, which is Plastikote's Engine Enamel, #207, Aluminum. Manufacturer Page here, Engine Enamel:Specialty | PlastiKote Paint Products

Ending results are a very good color match to the actual aluminum grill frame.

Yesterday I received the custom window applique from KarL'z Vinyl GraFIX. The applique is made from transparent frosted vinyl, so it looks etched into the window. Here is the steps involved in applying the window applique.

The first step is cleaning the surface of the window. I'm using Windex.

Using 100% cotton cloth to wipe off the surface.

Before you remove the backing paper, you need to determine the location of the applique first.

Once you decide on the location, apply pieces of low tack masking tape to mark off the edges of the applique. Doing this will make it easier to apply the PC window applique after you've removed the paper backing.

The masking tape piece eliminate the guessing when you apply the applique.

Remove backing paper from the applique, starting from one side.

Position and Apply the applique starting from edge of the masking tape.

You can use a Driver's License, Credit card or Vinyl Film Applicator so the applique is applied without any creases or air pockets.

Peel off the applique backing, starting from one side.

Ok! our Planetside2 New Conglomerate window applique is finished

Thank you greenroost! Much more to come and Matt's new Bitfenix fan controller arrived from OuletPC.

Nice, but I think a matching Metallic Blue finish would fit our theme better, instead of the Matte factory Black..

Dismantle looks easy enuf, just remove the bezel with Philips screwdriver.... Er, wait?

Bezel glass looks very fragile and GLUED on.... Considering how stock was very low on these controllers, I'm gonna to play it safe and just mask off everything, instead of trying to remove the glass from the glue adhesive..and risk breaking it

I'm using Scotch brand painters tape to mask off the glass....

Bitfenix factory applies a Black rubberized finish to the RECON fan controller..

You want to remove this thoroughly this rubberized surface material before applying your primer coat and paint.. I used 80 grit sandpaper

Only took a few minutes of sanding to remove the rubberized surface coating.. Now we're ready for paint!

I'm using Black Enamel Primer by RUSTOLEUM.... Let it cure for 1 hour, then we can apply our matching Blue Metallic paint next!
