I have both. ProGrip has a better texture and consistency.

Nope!

And wasn't aware that Pro Grip was another product and made by Rustoleum.

Plasti-Dip is good for everything.

Guess I'll be replacing the GTX780. Purchased a GTX780Ti. Hopefully EK waterblocks should start popping up next week for it.

If you had the EK Supremacy I could ship (for free) the naked precision mounting kit that works with de-lidded chips without the IHS both socket 1150 and 1155. I have a few of these that I bought a while back.

I can actually run naked w/ the LTX I have. But I don't feel the need to risk cracking the die just for a ~3C drop in temperatures.

I tried this on my (now dead 3770K) and my Haswell 4770K and I saw about the same temperature drop as well. It was more worth it on the Haswell at 4.4Ghz because it went from 95 celsius to 92 at full load through Intel Burn Test thus making throttling less likely. On the 3770K at 4.9 Ghz it went from 68 to 64 celsius but that was somewhere near a golden chip not even needing 1.35V for 4.9 Ghz and only 1.28 for 4.8.

It wasn't this that killed the 3770K though, as it was my hamfisted dropping of the chip onto a hard floor that did it in :(
