Wet sand w/ some 1000 grit. Then 2000 g. Then use some Megiuar's PlastX acrylic polish. The smaller blocks take about 10-15 minutes to do a glass-like appearance. The GPU blocks take about an hour or so.

Just took 11ty new pics. Ditched the pastel coolant for the good ol' transparent stuff. Started to get a little overboard w/ macroing.

Then I went outside and tried a few pics of the snow.

Sorry to hear about your block. I hope they send you a new one fast. Other than that, I hope the 4770K also OC better than what you had.

They have offered to RMA it but honestly it is too much work to pull apart. So I'll leave it for now. And yes the new CPU definitely is better. Priming @ 4.7GHz right now, 3.5 hours in.

You need to take it apart though so you can get a new one. Glad to know about the clocks on that chip, I will be doing the same with mine and I hope it goes just as high. I have thought of deliding it but not sure yet.

Delidding it is super easy. Applying the CLP is what is hard. Good thing I am not a nurse as my hands are just way too shaky w/ a needle. Also reinstalling the IHS can be difficult as it tends to slide all over the place.

All he wanna do is go zoom zoom, a zoom zoom, take some pics!

I'm getting jealous of the camera skills. On top of the modding skills. Nice work as always, lowfat.

Once you figure out lighting, everything else w/ a camera is easy. I just sit in my chair, set it to live view (LCD) then adjust the focus and exposure to what looks best. Winter makes lighting absolutely perfect too. Just open the blinds on a south facing window on a cloudy day and you get perfect lighting.

Had a lot of fun macroing today so I ordered a $10 extension tube set from eBay to do some more DIY macroing. Can't wait to see what do w/ it!
