I've done some work on the diffusion inlet , and the drain 'jam-nuts' ;

I also bought some nice brass screws for the backplate :

So at this point , the tank is very close to finished.The next step is to seal the backplate on, then final insulation/sealing can start , at that point , the tank proper is done......

Steel 1/4 stock - that thing must be heavy, and add the pump.... with only 2 attachment points, aren't you afraid it will rattle?

Nope.

It'll actually have 3 attachment points , I havnt made the back support yet.....hopefully I'll get that done today.

wouldn't the pump overheat if its enclosed in polycarbonate?

Wow.... Just WOW...

I've spent the better part of a week reading this whole thread and I AM SUPER IMPRESSED!!!111!!!
This is by far the coolest (pun intended) mod I've seen in a while.

Now I know what to ask of Santa this year :)
