Good stuff, what's your ETA on the new iso for a test?

I'm glad to know you're going forward with this monster. I probably won'y make it for v.2, but if there's a way I can help, let me know.

Ah yea , I don't play around with safety.

Hehe.......you did'nt think I was going to give up on this project did yah ?

This project will run , one way or another.I had really hoped for a grand slam home run 1st try , but that was probably unrealistic....This has never been done before .I suspect there will be other issues , even once the liquid choice is made and working.

Thanks a lot for the offer John !

You mean this Iso ? :

I went to pay for the techspray Iso order today , only to discover they actually stock the MG stuff.....99.953 % .

I am setting up a baking pan test now.I have to modify the test chamber so I can keep the Iso under nitrogen....anhydrous alcohols are very hygroscopic , and there's too much humidity here right now.

Update in an hour or two !

I keep waiting for shots of Braineater in the news.

"Hello, 911? My neighbor keeps bringing home all these containers of weird chemicals. I think he's got a meth lab in his garage!"

Glad to see you've got a cheaper source of coolant. Good luck!

Ok.

We have travelled one more step down the path of discovery.

There is a full on 'frequency dependent' issue with Isopropanol.

I set up the backing pan inside a larger container , filled it with N2 , submerged the mobo in the anhydrous IPA , No joy.

.....And once again , the AMD k6-450 works flawlessly under the same conditions.

.

-------

So it's onto other liquids.

Yea , it's not expected thats for sure...But it's a new discovery !

I did a conductivity test with the meter.......the needle moves by just the smallest amount , but it does.I've read that Isopropanol has a fairly heavy dipole moment.....it's possible it's that......

Onto liquid research/testing.

Yep......like I say , the 450 Mhz setup works.Once any setup goes above say 1GHZ it won't run.

At least with Iso......I have some other ideas.

I vote for a complete change of motherboard :P It seems that that motherboard and the ISo don't want to play nice, however you have discovered that other mobos seem to be just peachy.

To me it would seem to be easier to change the motherboard over changing the liquid.
