My System Specs

Default New Rig - WIP

Just got most of the parts today. Only one tiny little piece missing . . . what's that thing called again? Oh yeah, an E8400 cpu. Think it's coming tomorrow. Got the PSU in and Burner, now planning my cable management.

Tomorrow is another day.

Don't you just hate having all of that fancy stuff sitting around while missing the one crucial part???

If it were me, I'd have everything together waiting for the proc to arrive......... :)

I've got a little more that I can do tonight, but I really don't want to get ahead of myself. Hindsight is always 20/20, but I have learned that a little bit of planning is worth its weight in gold. I'm just trying to figure out if I want to mount HDDs with the cables to the front or back. After I get it up and running with a clean XP Pro install on one of these drives, I want to stick two of my IDE drives from my old rig in here also.

I think I've done most everything that I can without a cpu. If anyone can think of anything else let me know before I partake too much of the fruits of my labor of my other hobby... wine making.

PSU = installed
Burner = installed
New HDDs = installed
IO Faceplate = installed
Cable Management = underway

Thanks for the links to the DS3L threads. I guess I can read and drink responsibly at the same time tonight.

Just don't get too fancy and attempt to permanently finish the cable management by tying it off or you'll anger the first post gremlins........ :)

Like Steve said you'll want to leave some slack in your cables so you can properly connect everything.

No problem about the links, enjoy reading them. The second is a huge thread over at Overclock.net
