It's at 193 now? Damn it's pretty big. It starts about when the DS3L first came out.

Question

Well the engine finally showed up here today, so back at it. When I ordered the equipment DC was out of the Noctua fans that I wanted. I figured I would just pick up a 12 cm fan at the local shop ($25 later...ouch). This case (improvised cpu) fan has no controller wire so it will be flat out all the time. I was thinking that maybe I should pull the bottom Antec tri-speed fan out and switch it for this one. Most threads I have seen say to leave the cpu fan flat out all the time. Any comments?

E8400 = installed
Arctic Cooling MX-2 = applied

Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme = installed
4 x 1 MB Crucial Ballistix DDR2-8500 = installed

Organized chaos! I love it!

Question Urgent Questions

Two main questions.

1) Does anybody know the color coding for the 10 wire cable in an Antec 182 case (pos vs neg)? I can't find a marking on the cable and nothing in the manual. I figure white is either positive or negative (I've always been electrically challenged). Shown below.

2) Can I run my audio cable over the mobo and underneath where the 8800 GTS will go without cooking the cable insulation? Shown below.

Once again, thank you in advance for everyone's helpfulness.

Sorry folks. I did find one line saying that the colored wire on the LED feed was positive, so I will assume that other colored wires are also positive. Thanks.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe you used way too much thermal paste. Half a rice grain should be enough to create contact between the CPU and HSF.

Default Think I'm Ready - Hopefully No Smoke

I'll check out the thermal paste. Thanks Wankerfx. I'll show everybody where the build sits now. I'll go through a check list here and see if I'm ready to power up.

1) CPU, Heatsink & Fan = installed
2) Memory = installed
3) PSU = installed
4) HDDs & Burner = installed
5) Motherboard = installed
6) Graphics Card & Power = installed
7) Indicator Light Power = installed

Is there anything other than mouse, keyboard & internet that I have not mentioned or thought of? Thanks.

Looks like you're running all four sticks of memory?

Best bet would be to start with a couple in dual channel and add the other two once that's nice and stable. (Removes one less possible roadblock on the initial install).
