Default Rebirth of Lian-Li P80

I had an old Lian-Li P80 case sitting in my closet, and I like so much I couldn't get rid of it, so I decided to find a new use for it and update it. Here is a pic of what it look like with the last system that was in it.

Here is a pic or two of the stripped down frame to be sent off for powder.

Some pics of the frame back from powder.

I found a company in the area that was willing to do one-off job for me. You'd be surprised how many places that do powder coating aren't interested unless you have 50 or more pieces to coat. Martin Gazendam @ Ontario Coatings ( www.ontariocoatings.com ). They did a great job, drop the parts off on the Monday, and recived a call Tuesday afternoon that the parts were ready. Awsome!

So I'll slow on the posts, just behind on posting from start of project so I thought I'd catch up. I'll post more as the build goes on and the parts arrive. Have some coming this week, rad, pump, fluid, MB, proc, etc etc. Did get one part though that is going to bring this old case up to date in the I/O end of things, some pics of what I picked up to do that.

Looking good. How much did it cost to get it powdercoated?

powder cost 125.00 taxes in. That included and instock colour, plugging of the threaded holes (MB standoffs, cases panel holes etc), and as many parts I could fit on the rack. I could have gone with a custom colour for about 150.00 taxes in, but the colour they had looked great (rouge 66 ).

Got a new part . A new water block. It may not be the best there is out there, but I like the "bling" factor and the ease of use. It uses the 2011 mounting holes that come on the motherboard all that is required is to replace the thumb screws on the block.

Installed USB IO into the panel and ran into a problem, it seems its bulkier than I thought. The power switch and reset PCb are in the way. So now I have to replace the power switch. I am going to eliminate the reset and turn it into a hard drive activity LED, cause when was the last time anyone used a reset button???
The button I chose is a prewired one from performancepcs.
