so I am gaming NFS HP 2011 (aka NFS14) it is a little slow at first 5 seconds then it goes fine, resolution is 800x600, sometimes it slows to a creep but is only for 2-3 seconds. I guess it is loading textures and is bottle necked by the 200MB/s bandwidth of the x1 port. Remember, Radeon HD 4550 has only 80 processors clocked @600MHz, and 256 MB DDR3 memory clocked at 800MHz. I take that the slow gaming is due both to the small memory and low processing power. I deactivated an option called hi resolution textures and the game is good even at 1024x768 but is lacking RAM big time, I try to solve that temporarily by increasing the swap file but I ordered 4x1GB sticks of DDR 2 667 ECC from ebay (40$ shipping included) which should solve the issue. I decided to keep the platform for myself, for the moment I am transcoding my gf's DVD collection with Handbrake, average speed is 150fps, 6 times faster than realtime. Audio was an issue too, an Audigy 2ZS is hard locking the system, so I got an USB soundcard based on C Media 108 chipset, (10$ local store) fantastic sound from the first try. The Audigy 2ZS works fine on a 790FX chipset mobo so must be a design incompatibility or crappy Creative drivers.
