I wouldnt call it wasted... ;) Not many games can be run at 7680x1600 even with this hardware, thats a lot of pixels to push! These are really great quality panels too! I've got 4 or 5 panels around the house and these are easily the best quality and nicest and easiest on the eyes for extended sessions.
Besides I don't have the space now anyway. I will probably upgrade to 3 x 27" 3D LCDs though which these cards will probably struggle with, thats twice the resolution that has to be processed in 3D!!

Here's some multi-monitor gaming from the last build, i7 950 + quadfire 5870 in eyefinity @ 5760x1080.

Both old IL2 and New IL2 Cliffs of Dover.

Old IL2 with a massive Battle of Britain Scenario.

12 x Mk.1 1938 Hurricanes

28 x Bf-109 E-4 1940
18 x Bf-109 E-4/B 1940
28 x Ju-87 B-2 1941
28 x He111 H-2 1941

I dont expect finger prints to be a problem though, as much as it's tempting to stroke the hardware from time to time, it doesnt like static, so I try to handle equipment as little as possible once it's installed.
Wear gloves when handling copper blocks. The natural oils in your fingerprints reacts with untreated copper, and leaves tarnish marks which are very hard to get off. I learned this the hard way with a copper Ninja HSF.

When we do copper flashings at work, everyone in the shop wears those stupid blue latex gloves.

Cheers really appreciate the heads up!

Last synthetic benchy... cracked 20K 3dm11-P
Seems these tests like a bit of memory bandwidth and uncore OC. ;)
GPU's and CPU clocks the same as last 18k score, just with a different multi/bclk. (23x218 mem @ 2180 w/10x multi)

Awesome build. What are the temps for your GPUs at full load? I am thinking about going with either 2 GTX 590s or 2 6990s but I was hoping to do it with only 2 360MM radiators (or a 360MM radiator for 1 6990 and a 480MM for my CPU and the other 6990). Not sure if I can keep the temperatures in check though, especially with a Swiftech MCR 320...

GPUs are still on stock air with 100% fan bios mod.
Worst card (slot1) tops 94c and the coolest (slot4) tops at 61c
I wouldnt do a 590 if I were you. They are not good OCers.
If you want a 2 slot setup the 6990 will get you better performance and OCing at lower temps than the 590.
590's dont have enough powerphases to run high clocks so they have been known to go POP if you push too hard.. By all means if you want Nvidia go for it but just don't expect massive OC.
Swapping from AMD to Nvidia I have to say I like having control of SLI profiles again and heaps of AA options that you dont get with AMD plus the drivers install and run cleaner with less issues from what I've seen.
My last SLI setup was 2x8800ultras then went Quadfire 4870x2 x 2 > Quadfire 2x 5870 + 5970 > QuadSLI GTX 580.

2 Rads is only just going to be enough, and with the CPU in the loop your CPU OC will suffer a bit as water temps will hit 40c. My last quadfire watercooled loop ran GPUs at 50-55c max with water temp 40c. Thats with 2x D5 pumps and 2 x GTX 360 rads and the fans you see in my rig at 2000RPM. ( I have 2 loops with 2 x GTX 360 rads 2x D5 each loop)

Not as amazing as this!!!

Jeees getting Nvidia surround 2d to work is a biatch with quad SLI.
Its not officially supported on GTX580s but I got it to work.
Im afraid ATI have the leg up on Nvidia for ease of use!

But you cant argue with this result! (DOF breaks surround 2d so its turned off)

If I wasn't at work right now I would be crying in my beer. Nicely done.

Love the IL-2 videos....awesome game, can only imagine what it would be like to play on that system
