Well im booted in with the 990x at 4.66Ghz with 1.4v and everything else auto.. not bad!
Did my first run of 3dmark11 at default clocks for everything and got 16k.

About to run again now.
Have some pics to post soon too.

PS cant believe how cool this chip runs... idle at 18-19c at default clock max 35c under load!
Now idle at 26c at 4.66Ghz.. see what max I get from 3dmark.
Oh the Enermax PSU is in too incase your wondering..

Here's some pics while I work out how to keep temps down..
Not having power issues anymore but GPU keeps hitting 100c and then the driver stops and I have to reboot!

Hurry up AC!! I need my blocks!!

Here's some baseline prime95 temperature tests with stock CPU clocks. Im still astounded at the idle temp at stock clocks.. Even at 5Ghz it idles at 35c which is 6c less than the 950 was at 4.6Ghz.
As I speak air temp is 22.7c and the CPU is idling at 16c with default clocks.
The 990x runs at 0.97v in powersaving mode at default clocks combined with massive surface area of 2 x 360 rads just for a CPU and Aquaero controller water block.

Below is a quick prime95 run at default clocks.
Processor voltage runs at 1.12v for default clock of 3.4Ghz under load.
Note the CPU radiator fans are sitting 3.7v which is 800RPM the whole time.
The CPU T8 sensor is a thermal probe sitting just under the heat spreader between the 990x spreader and circuit board. Not sure why its reading so much lower, its probably slightly damaged and needs to be replaced or re-positioned.

Really not sure how the AC Kryo HF Silver can improve on this but I'll give it a shot when it comes.
AC said about 10days for all my order to come in which means about a month for delivery! :(

For some reason the one string of CPU fans on Ch7 that used to report RPM no longer does. The other one has a dirty RPM signal which is why it reads higher than its actually spinning.
Im hoping that when I re-cable and sleeve everything it will fix this as I'll use higher quality wire than what ships with the fans.

The GPU loop is only cooling UD9 and Ram at the moment but you can see the chipset generates a bit of heat under load even at stock settings.

I have the system almost stable at 5Ghz now. Enough to get through Vantage graphics tests and halfway through the physics test. Ill keep tweaking today and should get it stable by later tonight.
I was running with 1.6v vcore and vtt at the max for testing and temp wasnt a problem so its not vcore/Vtt is probably the IOH or skew.. I'll keep trying.. (thats with memory at 2000Mhz 9-9-9-27)
The CPU runs fine @ 5Ghz with 1.45v and 1.35 VTT so I'll reset there and try tweaking elsewhere...

Ok got my 1st 5Ghz @ 1.63v Vantage completed.
I had to drop the 580's to 880/2200 @ 1.077v to keep under 100c as the high clock speed of the 990x was working them harder.

enjoy! :):)

I found the limit of the new power supply...

CPU 5.22Ghz 1.66v with 920/2250 on the GPU's. PSU did an overload shutdown as temps were still fine! (well yes the CPU was a tad hot but not at tMax)

Looks like I might need me a 2nd 1500W PSU to split the load when I overclock the GPUs under water.

PS. No wonder it shut down, CPU's using 400W or so at 5.22Ghz. :)
Total power below from extreme power supply calc pro (this is also based on stock GPU clocks )
Minimum PSU Wattage: 1522 W
Recommended
PSU Wattage: *
Amperage (combined)
+3.3V +5V +12V
7.7 A 13.5 A 123.3 A

I got a Dell E520 C2D @ 1.86 Ghz I might be convinced to trade away if you really wanted to downgrade.

Seriously thats about a 150% overclock in the cpu.....thats pretty damn sweet...

2 1500w psu's...
