I looked for some new Ram today and its really hard to find anything at 2000Mhz better than CL9. Since I now have ram water blocks for all 6 slots I ordered 24 Gb of CORSAIR 12GB (3x4GB) DOMINATORŪGT DDR3 DRAM 2000MHz C9 memory kits. Damn expensive stuff too.. $700 bucks... ohwell may as well do it properly this time since this is the last build this X58 UD9 MB will get!

Here's my projected powerdraw from extreme powersupply calculator pro for my system WITHOUT OC the GPUs.
I only have ~110W to play with for OC even with a 1500W PSU!
Minimum PSU Wattage: 1390 W
Recommended PSU Wattage: * 1440W
Amperage (combined)
+3.3V +5V +12V
9.1 A 13.5 A 111.8 A

My projection is .... the street lights dim in your neighborhood every time you power up your system and your local area experiences brownouts when you game.

You thought about running it off more than one power supply? No idea how thats done, but I know I have seen a link on these forums to pictures of a rig with more than one psu. Just don't remember where.

That's how im currently doing it now. The 2nd PSU is hotwired. But i still dont have enough powah! The 12v rails on my 2x 1200W supplies vary between 18Amp and 28Amp and I need minimum 30Amp 12v across 6 rails for the GTX580s and CPU at decent overclock. Thats why im going for the 30A x 6 Enermax. I may need to do a 2nd one too, but thats ok because the case is setup to take 2 PSUs.

Wouldn't you be better off with a single rail system? Something like the Corsair AX1200? Well in your case two of them? I know I can run my two 580s off of my AX850 so you should easily be able to do two cards onto each psu and not be worrying about the amps on your 12v.

Yeah im considering 2 x AX1200's single rails as a backup plan.

Shipped today from PCCG (yes with insurance!)
Hopefully arrive tomorrow arvo at work!
Hope the Cathodes make it safely!

2x Lamptron Spectral Bar Cold Cathode 32cm UV

1x Intel Core i7 990X

1x Enermax MaxRevo 1500W

4x Koolance Fluorescent Blue Liquid Coolant 700mL (have stocked up on 6x BlueMotion water additive 50 ml UV-active from AC to play around with too)

Im currently busy working out how I can use some koolance fittings to do a nice looking parallel setup for the new AC ram blocks.
Similar to how the current Koolance ram 35 blocks work... Im thinking the 4 way universal splitter fitting with my existing sliding ram connectors and a couple low profile male to males for mounting to the blocks..

Thinking 2 of these for each ram block (one each end)

With one of these securing each of them to each block.
And one of these also between each block at each end to link them in parallel. (already have the 4 of these I can re-use from the existing Ram coolers)

It will work like this if you can imagine three instead of 2 with the multiway blocks at each of the ram block to link them all up.

(how i currently have mine setup except with 3 of them)
