New gadget arrived today... and i really mean gadget in the wife's glossary of terms meaning "un-necessary device"...

Corsair Airflow Pro Parametric Display for the Dominator Ram.
Its a clip on LED display that show RAM temperature and activity.
Totally un-necessary! Just like most of this build!

Not sure how I will mount it yet as the ram will have water blocks on it... but I will work something out!

Component | KitGuru

PS havent really started on sleeving, just stripped all factory sleeving and traced all the wires on the connectors to document them so I can re-do them from scratch 1 cable at a time! ;)
Also refitted them to the case out of the factory sleeving to see what route works best with the single strand wires.
Taken about 5 hours so far!

Ok I found something cool to keep me busy while I wait for RMA's.

PE4H (PCIe passive adapter ver2.4)

Dont know if any of you have seen these before.
I've been researching this before and its now become a much simpler process.

Its an external express card to PCIE adapter.

Designed for engineer testing of PCIE devices.
Im going to use it for gaming on my VAIO Z128 laptop with an external GTX580! ;) How cool is that!
The integrated GT330M just isnt cutting it for some of the stuff I want to play, and when I go away for the weekend to our family holiday house I can just pack the Lappy, adaptor, Powersuppply and I can play all my games at 60FPS+ ;)

Here's an example pretty much of the setup as i will have it too. He has the exact same lappy as me known as a Z117 in other countries.

On the way to finishing the 24pin sleeving..
Here's the 24pin almost finished, just a couple more double wire runs to finish it.
Thats about all my fingers can cope with today! :)

I wasnt happy with the consistency of the motherboard 24pin so I re-did most of the heatshrink on it. I've also now completed the beast of a cable..

It has the runs sleeved for the other PSU power-on and the Aquaero 5 XT relay. (the long curled up cables)

There were lots of 2-way, 3-way and even 4-way cables.. What a headache!!!!

At least it's all down hill from here, the PCIE's will be a piece of cake after this beastly cable!

Hi Guys!

Back from holidays today and my performance pcs shipment has finally miraculously appeared and my replacement motherboard is back.

Cant wait to ditch the bosch staples for the sunbeam PSU mod tool kit! ;)
Aquacomputer also confirmed my blocks are finally on the way! :D :D

I might get a RevoDrive 3 X2 240GB SSD next week depending on when my Vertex2 SSD RMA's get back. OCZ have confirmed they are replacing them!

Tools of the sleeving trade! ;)

The new sunbeam PSU modding tools above in the tool kit makes life sooo much easier compared to the bosch type 53 11.4mm staples!!

The long lost Performance PCs shipment!

A lifetime supply of MX4, thermal pads, 14 indigo extreme applications and 4 radiator shrouds.

Hi All,
Had a guest staying for the last week so havent got much done.
System is back together though, all running on factory air until my new blocks arrive while I complete the sleeving and pull-down all the pumps/rads/fans.
Great news is that the replacement UD9 MB is running with new replacement SSDs and the flakey CPU OC behaviour has dissapeared!
So everything is fixed and working and Im about 2/3rds done on the PSU sleeving and all the cables I've done so far work. This includes that beast of a 24pin with the 2nd PSU on/off cable! :)
The hardest cables so far have been the GPU cables though, they have a 3wire to 5wire ground cable that is an absolute biatch to crimp and sleeve at the join!
More Pics tomorrow!

The troublesome 3 to 5 wire 8pin GPU ground cable under construction...

1 finished and assembled GPU cable for 6pin and 8 pin.
I only have 1 more of these to go.

Cables roughly installed.

Still a hell of a lot of work to do!!!!!
