Default first customize case with gen3 i7 system

you might call me crazy... and very very patience person...

i bought some parts a few months ago (thanks god that i dont need upgrade to i7 2500k due to issue... i dont care if its solved...)

in the past, i just had a bad time... (wrong time to buy system and video card competition) plus busy with my job... and customize case is not easy to work...

picture of everything... i think... i might miss something...

this parts is not including in the list above for some reasons...
OCZ vertex 2 60gb for 129.99 (only in store)
asus sabertooth x58 for 199.99
2x koolance ar-697 220.98 (110.49)

500.96 + stupid 12% hst = 567.08

rebates
ocz vertex 2 60gb = 30
2x hd 6950 = 40

used:
brand new cosair hx 1000 for 200
4x bitspower rotary fittings 40
mcr320, swiftech res v2 and mcr655 from the complete package for 200 (see Watercooling kit )
dual mcp 355 with ek res v2 130 (is on the way) << if i dont want mcp655 and switch res v2

sooo total is $2276.80.... wow i thought over 3000 because i never count... until now... o_o and of course not including $70 rebate...

----

now i am trying to do my very first customize case... please remember i am not expert... just learning... and learn a lot of mistakes (error and trail)...

before i created the customize case... i did search a lot of aluminum case... many wasoverkill or too big... and i also picked up cm690 II advance for 30cdn on the black friday but its freaking heavy and ugly compare to my old cm 690.. of course it was not for my system... for my brother's intel duo system... anyway i visited oc.net and bit-tech.net to visit many unique and crazy mods... so i decided to make my own because i want to try...

first thing i was doing the autocad in 3d.... and failed at big time... then try solidwork 2010 but it was hard and stupid to use compare to autocad then tried sketch up and i dislike it immediately then finally tried autocad in 2d... much prefect and easy to work... i should get autocad inventor like i did at my old high school...

my brother told me to use glue so i did... for a week, it was not very succesful... and messy... cure the glue took a long time than it should be... (and i am prefectist as well)...

so yesterday, i decided to use rivet bolts... and i felt very sadisfied because i was worrying that glue aluminum to aluminum will break down and damage my 2k computer parts...

all angle tube is 3/4"x1/8"... except and some 3/4"x1/8" flat bars and one angle tube for hdd (1"x1/16)

yeah it looks very small... but very strong... as i test.. the dimension is about 17-3/4" height, 14-1/4" length and 6-1/2" wide... i only need one power button on it... thats all... i just like simple and basic case...

just display mobo tray... this is most hardest part to accomplish... not prefect but it should do fine... yes i know there is one broken standoff screw... i will remove it later...

i can pick it up with my thumb finger... really light compare to fragil silverstone ps04 or very fat cm 690 II adv... dont worry i have sheets... and need to buy two lexan glass panels...

removal support for videocard and other.. just two screws at the top of the case...

next time, try working with autodesk inventor...I've always found autocad 3d to be extremely finicky, even with the 2011 release
anyways...looks like it could be an interesting case

jibz... glad that you like...

dragoonxx... yeah of course, i will... and thanks...

[strikeline][rant]
stupid hx1000 especially its cables and slot...

hx1000 is little longer for three storage (sdd, 2 hdds)... well my original plan is sdd and hdd only because i realize that 1tb is too much for loss...so hitachi is known for best reliable...

the cable from the box is very tough to bend... and the slot is slight too long... like 2 or 3 mm... should i cut it? and the cable that is between the slot is extremely long for this case... time for mod... eh?

but i always have plan b... put them at vertical where front case is so you can see them on lexan glass... and they will fit fine...

this rant will be writing on my mentally note in the future reference... add extra wide.. >_>;

[/rant][/strikeline]

wow i am so idiot... i forget about maximum width... i mean angle tube from front and rear is the wider... just by 1/4"... so it fits prefectly... and i just have to twist the psu cable but it looks not petty... :\

guess i need to go bed now...

first, i forget about supreme hf... almost too 100cdn from dazmode... and pure silver coil for 10cdn... so you can calculate...

now i am puting some parts in the case for tests purpose and re-mesaure because i am going to use two mcr320 radiators at the left side of the case...

i installed ek supreme hf... very easily... and i wonder what jet plate does... do i need to swap it?

but i only had one problem... i had no idea how to install arc 670 :\ it only has one whiteprint paper... i had no idea what pink paper is for... and gray paper... (the paper said use gray paper on all vrm, etc but why is the pink at there... and white thermal grease?)...

so i already put waterblock on hd 6950 for observation purpose...

can you please help me to explain? i would be very appreciated...

---

just give you an idea where pump and res should be position at... the pump have to be sideway for shortcut as possible...

same as above

thats why i order rotary fittings.. i know i am trying to avoid angle fittings as possible... but for this one... i cant avoid... i think one 90 degree fitting wont hurt my loop setting anyway

now you understand... two radiators will be position at the left case... so radiator will go through inlet of the res... then outlet from 90 degree fitting throught to sideway pump then finally outlet from pump to radiator...

basically radiator > res > pump > radiator > cpu > gpu1 > gpu2... i dont know if it will be good enough... i thought to add another extra radiator between two video cards...

what is your opinion? any advices would be very nice to heard...

or should i wait for dual mcp355 with ek block from 3.0charlies?

whoa... i dont update this for a long time... i was so busy with my new place (still looking tho), job and visit my brother from ontario... and lack of stupid tools... i also have to revision my plan too...

anyway i was trying to cut some sheet because aluminum flat bar wont work... i tried to bend them but i broke them by hand... i guess i need torch and vice... >_>;

try to bend them careful but not succesful... so i use sheet.... i did worry about how strong it is... so i gave a try...

little strange but i like it... it also supports the radiators with fans without problem... i just cant fold the sheet properly... but when its ready for paint then i will find the way to bend them properly

other view... i just need to slide the back sheet... no screw... i might need screw them after i bend the rad support properly

i just want to cover the pus because of dual pump with ek res v2... i will need to screw it on the "psu" sheet.. consider it as water-proof and aesthetics...

dont worry... i will paint it later

other view...

yeah messy wire.. but i dont want to cut them

look at between video card and ek tube... well its not too bad... thats why i had to revision the plad... >_>;

now i am tired... i am supposed to cut some tube and test it... but i decide to do it tomorrow because it seems hard and painful to do... like measure, cut, and clean tube, wire up fans and pump, test pump, then leave it overnight then flush it again then install all hardwares...

yes you are right... do you have any suggestion about how to measure/ cut tube properly... i think i have to spend many hours on this stupid tubes...

i also double check something... i just found that i cant put bitspower barb into hd 6950... its not fitting.. >;[

edit: okay i tried to use other one and its succesfully turning into the block... but i have to turn it so hard... really strange...
