Watercooled mini-itx : SG"H2O"5 Hey guys, As the title states, I will attempt to custom watercool my sg05! I'm trying to look around, but if I am successful, it might simply be the first time anyone has ever done this (as in succeeded, not attempted).(Probably not, but can't seem to find anyone having done it with pictures to support it, H50/70 does not count!) What I'm going to use for the build : - H55N-USB3 , it's so small and cute! - i5 760, beafy enough to be my main computer yet not too power hungry at stock - 2X2GB of G.Skill Ripjaws - GTX 460 + full cover block - Intel X25-M 80 GB + Seageate Momentus XT 500 GB - SFX 450W Silverstone PSU - 355 with EK Top - EK Supreme HF - Swiftech 120 rad Also got the all black version of the case. If you guys know someone that's done it before, feel free to prove me wrong, might help me to solve some of my space related problems! Assembled it on air today and man it's going to be a challenge. No res going in there, just a t-line to fill/empty the loop. Anyone know if there's a rad smaller and thinner than the Swiftech? Everything should be left at stock, so the single rad should handle it all. Keep you guys posted, need to take my main rig apart to salvage some parts and sell the rest, but it's exam period ... 2 more weeks and weeee  Edit : Found it watercooled, but there was no GFX card in there, so still hoping this is a World and/or North America and/or Canada first! |
Some pictures. My current rig on the right, my future main rig on the left. http://i51.tinypic.com/209hgjo.jpg The SG05 450 Edition in all it's glory, I really like the look of it! http://i52.tinypic.com/2cp3wnl.jpg Will cut the mesh here to install a window to show the full cover block. http://i53.tinypic.com/6y2rf6.jpg Not much room to work. Notice the 3.5" HDD tray is not installed here and will be left out. I do still want to install a slim optical drive. Just need to find the slot loading Silverstone somewhere in Canada. http://i53.tinypic.com/t5kbk4.jpg And finally the back, showing the 80 Plus rated SFX 450W PSU. Man I want to shove a GTX 570 in there! http://i56.tinypic.com/1z6cawz.jpg Thanks for looking! |
Overclockers UK Forums - View Single Post - My first SFF build Sorry mate :( Still looks like its going to be a cool build though. Can't wait to see what it looks like completed. |
Nooo ... but he removed his optical drive, I want to keep it. Still very nice find! Edit : He made his in a SG06, so technically my claim still stands. :bleh: |
That's sweet! It'd be nice to see how the SG05 works out... that's another case I was considering! Cheers to mITX projects :) |
Got to say zoob, you were my inspiration to do this! :thumb: |
Some stuff arrived! :thumb: Now just waiting on the 570 to get here ... http://i52.tinypic.com/2j32o34.jpg |

Was looking for a change and a challenge. Also have less time for gaming so downgrading was smart thing to do. |
I suppose, but now that you have that thing why not keep it so you get the best experience possible when you do have time to game? |
