My System Specs

Default H55N-USB3 (lots of pics, 56K warning)

This is just a big picture gallery.
I am replacing my i7 920 12GB RAM server, with a nice low power G9650 2GB setup. All it needs is 1xPCI-E 16X for my RAID controller.

This thing is TINY. I was using a R2G, and this thing is TINY.

The sticker left some residue on some of the chokes.

Megahalem, or Shuriken?

Shuriken for now to see how it fits.

The retention system is different than I'm used to. Push pins aren't the best, and because it's a slot to support 775/1156/1366, it's a bit more work to mount because it slides all over.

Fan clips require open cornered fans.

On this board it sits VERY close to the video card. I put in a cheapo old nVidia card for testing.

Turns out I won't be able to use this with my RAID card as I put an old Zalman heatpipe cooler (ZM80A-HP) on it make it passive. I reverted back to stock HSF after some toying around.

It's really tough to eject the PCI-E card with this configuration. I needed a small jeweller's screwdriver to poke it.

Trying to fit RAM....

You need to use RAM that isn't too tall, and install it first.

Components around the mounting holes

Better be safe than sorry... put the Shuriken instructions to good use...

The video card hides the system...

Playing with my Winmate PSU.

Have to settle with the stock HSF if I want to use my RAID card... and even then it was a tough fit (sorry no pics).

Prepped for my file server...

Figures from some quick testing on the Shuriken.

Stock idle - 50 W - 30 C
Stock load - 86 W - 52 C

OC idle - 75 W - 40 C
OC load - 140 W - 79 C

OC settings: 21 x 200 @ 1.325 V, LLC on, 1.150 V QPI

Components:
Pentium G9650
H55N-USB3
Quadro FX550
2 x 1 GB Kingston HyperX DDR3
Intel X25-M 80GB G2 SSD
Pioneer DVR-218L DVD-ROM
Winmate dd-24ax DC/DC PSU + Brick from electrodacus @ SPCR

Horrible temps, but it's relatively quiet. Honestly, temps weren't too much different from the stock cooler. Either my chip is not too flat (spread wasn't too good), or the mounting pressure on the push pins is just terrible.

I figured my server only needs one PCI-E slot. Rather than wasting the expansion room, I could use the M in a gaming rig and still make use of my modded X-fi.
Though I am still very tempted to build a Q08 w/H55N. If I could stuff my Thermochill PA160 in there... that would be almost perfect.

Swapped PSUs in my file server for something a bit more low power (CX400) and decided to snap a couple pics:

No cable management, but whatever
