Good afternoon/evening/morning etc...
I'm over in the UK, so I'm not entirely sure what time it is over there... I have visited Canada once with work, and it's an amazing country. 3 weeks on Vancouver Island rocked. Not sure about the oysters though...
How can you NOT like this scenery...?!?!?
Anyway - I've joined this forum after discoverin the MNPC build done for Hardware Canucks using an Obsidian 800D. I'm currently in the process of building my new rig, and I'm using a 700D. All of a sudden I've picked up a lot of inspiration from the MNPC build, and will be including several styling tips taken from it...
For historical purposes, here's my old rig. The spec wasn't huge, but it's still going fine today...
Case: Silverstone TJ07 Black with Window
Motherboard: Asus Blitz Formula LGA775
CPU: Intel Core 2 E8400 3.0GHz overclocked to 3.8GHz
Memory: 8GB Corsair Dominator 8500 DDR2
Graphics: Nvidia 9600GT factory overclocked
Hard Drives: Total 2.5TB
I had huge amounts of fun building it, and it certainly gets a few odd looks when people see the reservoir on top...
It was based around the various Dream PC's that Custom PC have reviewed over the years (Gladiator computers ring a bell...?) and I learnt a huge amount from it.
I'll start with the case then rip it apart, and come up with a plan of attack. The actual hardware probably won't be ordered till I finish modding the case and have a specific design in mind, purely because by the time that's done the components will have been replaced and upgraded in the various sections of Custom PC...
I'm an avid reader of CPC, and have taken a lot of inspiration from the various Dream PC's they've reviewed over the years...
Scan Jellyfish Kobalt Daedalus Vadim Xiphias
...and lots of others over the years.
These ones cost around 10 grand each

but obviously mine won't cost anywhere near that much.
First component is the most important - the Case...
One Corsair Obsidian 700D, ripe for modding with lots of space and seperate compartments for housing 'stuff'...
I shall be updating this thread as I manage to complete parts of it, and hopefully a fully working PC will be shown at the end of it all...
And here's the other bits I've collected so far. I've also got some fan grills from MNPC, but no photos of them yet...
All comments, hints, tips and advice welcome...:D
