Got a little impatient waiting for my CPU to get through customs, so i started to put stuff together...

Got my video cards in.. so I started to take them apart to apply some better thermal paste... (using OCZ Freeze).

Looks nice, just got a new i7 build myself and love it, I was on the fence with the AMD 1090T X6 for awhile but ended up sticking with Intel. Replaced my old Q6600 Build, nice jump in Horse Power :) you'll really like your new system.

yea, it'll def. be a huge leap from what i've been reading.

Now i'm toying with the idea of sleeving. If CPU is still being held by customs, i'll put in an order this weekend for some... *sigh* at this rate it'll never be done.. LOL

Why is your CPU being held by customs, why didn't you buy in Canada. You know you're going to get dinged for handling fees if you didn't get it shipped USPS

microcenter had an instore special for the 930 for 199.99 USD. I got a friend to pick it up and send it via USPS for me. I should've just told him to send the chip and leave the heatsink out... but oh well, too late for that now.

So given that the prices locally have been roughly 299.99 + tax, I figure either way, the savings is enough for my blu ray drive.. or my fan controller.

finally got my CPU in, installed windows.. ran 3dmark.. and got a higher score than I expected. This is stock clocks (except for the vid cards running at evga's superclocked speeds)...
