No question is stupid. You are the first one to ask by the way, it is simply to give the case a visual difference. My design goal of no ordinary rectangular case needed something to tie everything together, thus the octagon.

Been awhile and have a few things to show. So first off the ODD bay cover. Inside one last time, put knee and elbow pads on the spring, they might get sore.

My dad is a welder and has done a lot of sheet metal/stainless steel work and he is very impressed. Great job man it looks awesome.

JJThomp thanks I am glad your dad and you like it so far. :)

LPfan4ever man I love the tent but I'll need it in white

Test fitted motherboard and it went in the holes perfectly. No filing just perfect yes I am pleased. Also fitted front side panel. They mount with thumb screws in back and each side has 2 front locater pins.
