The UPS man delivered me some goodies today, so I thought I'd snap a pic of what I've got going thus far. Stuff on the left is what's new today.

It's a slow process, I know. I'm limited by rate of paycheck it seems. Don't need much more now though

I can't do too much yet, but I cleared room on my Ikea computer table for the (empty) ATCS. Hopefully I can get it filled with hardware within the next week, operational in two.

Aside: I hate flash, it makes everything seem so dusty... I keep my room in low light for a reason

Take photo's during overcast days with the flash off. With low-moderate skills you'll manage the best pictures with little effort then

I love getting new goodies in the mail
Mushkin makes some pretty fine lookin' memory. Hopefully the heatspreaders don't interfere with the heatsinks I ordered... I'm venturing into uncharted waters here

Since I'm still waiting to get the I/O backplate for my motherboard (), I probably won't be loading everything into the case for a while yet. Rest assured, when the build gets rolling you guys'll be the first to know

Aside: FedEx probably has the most satisfying tracking system I've used to date. Unlike another certain shipping company *coughpurolatorcough*

May have been asked before, but what is this server used for?

Well, first of all it's going to serve as a fileserver, that was the most basic requirement. Then it's going to serve games like TF2, UT and Minecraft, as well as Ventrilo. Then it's going to serve as a central SVN repository, as well as a server for development in C, Java and with scripting and SQL (LAMP) as well as for compilation. Basically I'm just going to install CentOS on it and pimp it out. I've aquired a love for UNIX-like operating systems from work, and this is going to be my own to tinker and work with.
