Because of you I have started designing a HTPC that I will be building myself. Thanks for the push!

Happy to help

And in other news: painting is done

This has taken a lot longer than I wanted as life and work ate all my project time this week...until today

Nice weather, and a day off has allowed me to finish all of the case painting:

Sanded and primed to start (to make sure the final coats stay on there forever):

And then I got to work on the real paint:

Tremclad Brilliant Silver to start:

Bottom Panel:

Bender's shiny metal ass:

Antec 900 fan bay white fan retainer with silver grill:

And now for a little white paint:

The main enclosure body is looking much cleaner now:

And a few final shots of everything:

Windows and the new front panel assembly to come soon

Thanks, my points per day will make a big comeback once I have everything back together even if it is caseless until the mod is done.

Im excited to see how this turns out, especially after seeing your last mod; not to mention that this one has a minimal budget too!

You HAVE to print this out as a label and put it under the clear coat of the paint! (on the top or side)

I wish there was a 2-3ft tall bender action figure somewhere. I would so use that as a case.

So far keeping to my budget: I have picked up the following so far:

  • $0 - Six lightly used 80mm Fans from work
  • $8 - Logisys 12" White LED bar
  • $15 - 20x48 1/8" thick clear acrylic sheet
  • $2 - Latching switch for LED bar
  • $5 - Stainless Vandal Resistant power switch

Total so far: $30 used, $20 left at this point.

And I plan to use six of the the 80mm fans to keep the two GTX260s much cooler than the stock leaf blower fan:

I can do better than just a picture of Bender, I have a Bender now ($15):

I have something fun planned for him

$5.00 left in case I need one last little part.
