Thats odd, I always thought that the 5850s PCI-power connectors protruded from the side to accommodate for smaller cases. I know the 5770 is like that but isn't the 5970 the one whose PCI-power connectors were connected to the side that faces you when you look into the case?

No they shouldn't. Not w/ most of them being cold bugged. Even w/ my radiator fans off I can't keep mine above 40C. Causing it to lock up. I am going to have to throw another videocard in the loop or something in order to keep it from locking up.

Anyways here are a few pics of mine.

I believe some newer revisions have it fixed. But most HD5970's out there have it.

Huh, had no idea most of them where affected (or is it effected?) Kind of a good thing to know. Was it a driver issue, or is it a physical property with the card?
