Looks purple and real good.

Looks the leds are on tape so changing should not be to hard. See if there is any info on the tape then pick up your colour cut and solder wires back on.

1/2 of my keys on my 1st Gen G15 are gone and the keyboarda faceplate you've painted is now 1/3 white 2/3 stock silver :P

mine as lost and lost of millage on it.. i should do this mod but then no keys to replace the worned ones :(

The orange LEDs are on a couple PCBs stringed together, shooting horizontally through a piece of plexi or whatever to give all the keys backlighting. There's also a few in the top on the PCB for the screen and media buttons. I think I could handle soldering on normal LEDs, but these tiny surface mounted ones (and their even smaller resistors) are out of my skill range.

And r0k0, see if somebody has a dead G15 they wouldn't mind sending you the keys of? I really like painting this as it gives it a very different look from the stock colours.
