My System Specs

Default Project: Atomic One

So I picked up an Acer Aspire One D150 10.1" for cheap cause my wife is always "reminding" me that I'm always using her laptop.

Here are the specs:
CPU: Intel Atom N270
Hard Drive: Toshiba 160GB 5400 rpm SATA
Memory: 1GB Samsung PC-5300 DDR2-667

Once I got it home as any computer enthusiast would do I got rid of all the free trial software (Microsoft Office 2007, Carbonite and McAfee Anti-virus) as well as Microsoft Works.

Now I plan on using this mainly surfing the net, listening to music, and watching some videos, word processing and what not.

Now since I suffer from Tim "Toolman" Taylor Syndrome I need to beef this puppy up.

The modifications are going to be light, basically upping the Ram to 2GB and changing the hard drive to a WD Scorpio Black 320GB 7200 rpm SATA drive. (Which I have convince my wife to pay for half of since I'll be giving her my 160GB drive to replace her 80GB drive in her laptop).

So far I'm pretty impressed with this little guy. Oh and I picked up a Logitech VX220 cordless mouse.

Stay tuned for updates and pics.

Why not an SSD instead

Your only paying half price, and on valentine's day too. Your wife loves you. Post how you like it, I need to get my wife a netbook.

It's awesome. If you had the money go for the D250.

I tried to install A1CTL but it wouldn't install for me, which from my understanding is the only way to overclock on the Aspire Ones, as the BIOS has no OCing features. Hell it doesn't even have the option to keep the processor running at 12x multi.
