Finally found the pics of my old systems I built myself in Grade 12. My first personal build at that. Here's the beaut:

AMD 2400+ Palomino
Asus A7N8X-Deluxe
512MB PC2700
64MB XFX MX400 Video Card
80GB Maxtor HDD
400W PSU in Antec 1040SX Case
Floppy/CD-RW/DVD-ROM

Brings back memories.

Everyone should use their old computers for F@H.
I recently dig out a bunch of old computer parts from the storage room and now I have several computers running F@H on the shelfs in the garage. But of course, do this if you don't mind ur hydrobill increases.
Btw, the cold Canadian winter and early spring make very good coolants!

Older computers are very inefficient @ folding. Unless they have an Nvidia 8-series GPU or newer it really isn't worth the bother.

One of my 9600GSOs produces more PPD than all of my old rigs would do combined. It's not worth it to fold with older machines any more.

This was a few builds in to my career, I started with a 1600+ Palomino and a bunch of other used stuff.

I then built a watercooled setup with the 1600+ in a DFI NFII Ultra Infinity, then got a 2500+M, then moved over to a socket 754 build courtesy of an Abit KV8-MAX3 Mobo that I won. Mobo sucked, no PCI bus lock on the Via chipset. Which brings me to this:

3000+ Newcastle
DFI NF3 250gb
2x512mb Corsair PC3200 TCCD ram
9800 Pro (with mild voltmod)

Eventually watered it for this result:

ORB - Compare
