I like those HWC grills although, they don't really protect fingers from going in there

They will cool fine. In terms of open surface area, they have as much open venting as a normal case grills, its just heavier on the right side.

Worse case it will cut down your CFM by a a small bit.

Maybe we'll try and come up with an alternative for the performance focussed user.

Just a guess but I'd bet Mnptech is a bit of an artist when it comes to his mods and his vision of them.

IMO let the artist pursue his vision and the more practical of us out here can use our imaginations that it has some nice chrome spiral fan covers on there :)
