lookin good man. if you do what i said with the end of a pen heat it up and then stick it in the screw holes. it will forum to the hole without damaging it at all. thats how i got them open with little effort.

Hmm turns out i have a pen head that already is like that and i dont have to heat it up at all. Just got the game out of the cartridge

Here is a small update:

I recently put the hard drive into the sega genesis catridge so it looks like you're actually playing a game instead of running off of the hard drive. Ran it for a few hours like that and was getting normal hdd temps so i'll be sticking with it.




Whats Left:
Sega Genesis DB9 to USB circuitry (which is in the mail)
Re-attach the start switch (it fell off)
Reinforce the front usb in the volume control area (suggestions in what to use on top of glue and masking tape)
Wire up hdd led and mount in old 3.5" jack for headphones
Hook up the power button i have under the reset switch.

I haven't decided what specifically i'll be doing with the back, nothing final will happen with it until i go home with it in the summer or when i have my house (with roommates) in sept. I'm working with very few tools and work space at the moment.

I should be updating this within the week as i have the sega genesis db9 to usb adapter, tested it with my pc and it works. Now i have to mod it, insert it and try it again (and show pictures of it being used)

That isn't webcam shots, that's shots using my dinky cell phone that has no zoom and 1.3Mp resolution
