Default Case is in!

Woot, got my case and some sleving done, although, I plan on re-sleeving it all when my MDPC-X sleeve gets here. I mostly just practised with some TechFlex stuff, although, it looks good enough that I wouldn't need to redo it, but I want this build to be the best of my ability.

So this box came from UPS, and I must say, it is in one piece. Also, I did get stuck with a customes fee, which I think is because it didnt need to go into the USA twice... However, even after doing a North American tour, twice, it arived in good condition

I decided to sleeve the USB/ audio/ whatever it is called thing for my first go - didn't quite finish though

AFter I got the idea of sleeving, I proceeded to do my PSU, started with my two 4+4pin EPS cables. I must say, I think I did a good job (note: the heatshrink is the same length, it is just they way that the picture was taken that it look longer on the cable to the right):

Ripped that TJ07 apart, took all of the parts to the local powder coater, and have the side panel ready for me to cut for a window

More to come when it gets back

Got a call today from the powder coater saying that my case was in the process of being prepped as we spoke and that it was going to get done today! Hopefully I can put most of it together tomorrow

Default Update

Picked up my stuff today and got ready putting it together

To start things off for this update I decided to just take the pictures of the stuff after I removed the packaging and all that.

A somewhat closer shot at the midplate. Wow this stuff is durible/ high quality

Had to have some holes put in so they could hang the PCI covers - just like Sugar said, you cant see these holes when they are in.

Yes I had these done as well... Thought I might as well have the intire thing done

Here are the HDD cages... which will never see the light of day again. They might see a closet anda box though...

PSU covers. Again, only one will ever be used and the other one will just go away... FOREVER!

Dry fitting everything:

...dusty and dirty already...

Ending it off for now... Looks good in my opinion

Still got a bit to do. Need to disasemble the whole thing and get my radiator installed... need to buy another one first. Atleast I bought the Hammon Boxes! Anywho, have a bit of an alignement issue with my mobo-tray, need to work on that.

Also, need to send Nils some money and get some sleeving and black screws to replace all the ugly silver ones. Also need some black 3-pin connectors to replace on all the fans. After that, need to sleeve them SATAs', Pump, and some odds and end cables as well as order some 3-pin extentions, 'Y' splitters, my fan controller and get some stuff shipped back to Charles so he can complete my orders.

Might take awihle. Wanting (needing) to pay off the parents credit up to this point... and get ready for post-secondary schooling. Not saying Im stopping this build, but it might slow down for a bit

Looks really good there! How much did it cost to powder coat the thing?

Just a thought, but you can protest the customs charges and you usually win if you have a case.

I think you do have a case this time seeing as your case had no need at all to go the US....also, with it being flown around, it never actually went to Customs as it was cleared pre-flight (aka inside Canada) to save time.

They charged $125.00 for the powder, hole plugs, tax, an labour. Not too bad in my opinion

Default Getting Up To Date: Febraury 15th, 2010

Time to time I forget to update my first few posts here which contains details on what is left, what to do, etc. etc. Also, not everyone goes there, and so I am just putting a quick update here:
1.) Case is asembled with only the power supply. Will be taking it apart again to install the rads and pump in the bottom, as well as using black screws everywhere.
2.) Need to either get a Serpentine Top Pannel from Charles, or just trim the mesh. The Revearse ATX mobo tray has clerance issues with my P55 FTW. Looks like I cant use my fans (which where $20 a piece... and sleeved). No biggie though.
3.) Need more sleeving, and my 5870 water block A.S.A.P
Those are the three biggest things to do right now. I emailed Charles to send me a Serpentine top plate if he has any left. After that, my motherboard tray is fine I than need to send an order to Nils for some more white sleeving, SATA sleeving, heatshrink, and of course his black screws.

After that, I need my other SR1-240 Radiator. Ill mount that and my SR1-360 in the bottom with my pump, PSU, and fitting and get it ready to plumb into the top. I can't quite plumb it yet though. Talking to Charles about some "sLight" details/ finalizing details about this build. Yup, I can see this "Eclipse" thing working out a lot better than I wanted

Cant wait for payday this saturday

Does this mean they are now going to charge me a bazillion dollars because it "crossed the boarder" and needed to be dealt with by "customs"?
UPS = evil
