I've read every post until now, and it's my turn to intervene on this...Behemoth...of sorts...

Wait a minute...is "Go ahead and buy another one" a hint?

Gonna stick to my plan: air for Phase 1, then maybe possibly water for Phase 2. I'd like to make sure it's all working tickety-boo before I start messing around with water. Besides, as I mentioned earlier, I have two other watercooling builds I have to work on first before I can even think of putting Leviathan in the drink.

Okay, I've got an update. I went shopping and bought all the materials for the torture rack last weekend. The total amount spent on materials at Home Depot and Canadian Tire was $100.58 after tax. This brings the total cost of the project up to $1,099.32.

I finished the bottom rack last night and will probably be able to finish off the rest of the enclosure tonight. Here are some pics of the bottom rack and the mobo mount.

Leviathan is complete.

Here's a picture I took to make sure the PCI retention bridge was mounted properly by sticking in a few GPUs. For now though, Leviathan will be making use of the onboard video.

And after slapping it together with the parts it will actually be using, here's what Leviathan looks like...

Front:

Back:

I wanted to show you guys that I affixed some aluminum sheet to the interior roof of Leviathan as well. Just in case it decides to blow up one day, I didn't want too much bare wood exposed. Oh, and notice the spacing of the fan mounts. They were done in such a way to potentially host a last-generation PA120.2 in the front and a PA120.3 in the back should Phase 2 become a reality.

And here's Leviathan all hooked up and ready to rumble. I did manage to resolve (sorta) the RAM issue I was having. On POST, Autosize RAM would fail when I put the dimms into the slots recommended by Tyan. The machine would only POST with dimms in slots 2 & 4 for each CPU, and no other combo. The issue I was having with this is that this forced the RAM to run in single-channel and at DDR2-400. So to make a long story short, I figured out how to get the RAM to run at DDR2-667, but I cannot get it to run in dual-channel mode no matter what. Oh wells.

You'll notice wPrime on screen in that last pic. Thanks to the new DDR2-667ness of Leviathan, it has already beaten its personal bests. Some more benchmarks including the most important one - Bigadv TPF - will be posted in the New Year. In the meantime, I'll leave you with this, which is Leviathan's power draw from the wall at full load. It actually fluctuates between about 420W to 460W.

Well after just a few days, the board refuses to POST, halting at the initialization code FF regardless of which CPU, RAM or PSU is installed. So sadly, to Tyan RMA it must go. Hopefully the replacement board will work for a little longer than the original one. Will update this thread upon receipt of the replacement board.
