Dual Quad Upgrade
 

Figured I'd share this with the community, so here's my new upgrade:

That's a pair of Xeon E5520s, 12GB of DDR3-1333 ECC memory, an Asus Z8NA-D6C motherboard and two s1366 Xeon coolers.

The coolers are actually quite silent. Mind you I didnt hear them on full load. What rpm's do they ramp up to load in your baking hot room Dale?

I keep having the ITCh to do an Opteron Build when Istanbul goes live.

This is making it harder and harder to ignore that lol.

that's a crazy mobo...everytime I see mutli proc mobos like this one and CMetaphors, I get all giddy...then I realise I don't have a use for THAT much power and cry a little on the inside >.>
