After banging up the paint on my Cooler Master HAF932, I needed a new new paint job. The hard part after that was, what the hell colour would I use? Since I moved to ATI recently, I figured red should do good for the inside as everybody else does a flat black. For the outside, I decided to use this stuff I've never seen before, Rustoleum Universal Hammered Silver, to try to keep a bit to the HAF's rugged looks. Here's what I've got so far (and for a note, this is my first time working with:
Metal
Spray Cans
Clear Coat
Painting anything worth more than $20

)
The goods
Side panels masked and sanded (and also the damage that I felt warranted a repaint)
The HAF, au natural. Pretty easy to get it torn apart.
The top and back painted, first coat. (I know it looks white, but hopefully later pics will be a bit more true to the colour.)
The inside, a lot brighter than anticipated. Not really a bad thing though.
Slight problem with the whole two colours of paint, and LOTS of holes. Easily fixed with 1000 grit sandpaper and the second coat however.
I was debating painting the PSU holder as once a PSU is on there barely anything is seen, but I had quite a bit of red left.
I felt the grill paint was a nice touch for the front panel where the 230MM fan is.
Right now I'm waiting on clear coats and whatnot. I don't think I'll be sanding the clear coat down either as (from all the tutorials I saw) the only reason for sanding is really to get it smooth to be buffed and make it shiny, which I don't want. Mean looking cases are what I like.
More updates tomorrow, hopefully I can get my parts back in there by tomorrow afternoon before I go to work.
