That looks awsome! Nice work. What type of controllers are you using? And, how are they connected?

I know I had a little mahogany when the project was underway...

I must admit, however, that I felt like an idiot about the time I was ripping all the pieces out of the console...They've been selling for some stupid prices in Regina lately; I have no idea why. On the bright side, it was apparently a bit of a hit-and-miss console, with a LOT of time being spent seating and reseating the cartridges anytime you wanted to play. Had it been an upgraded console, with a new pinset, it would have hurt far worse.

Oh, and for Phobia: I'm using two regular NES controllers with "Retrozone USB Adapters" (installed in the case itself--that's why the controller connectors are so long on the inside of the case)

For non-NES games, I'm using a Saitek P990 and a Saitek P3200.

Any idea what they're selling for?

I was a big fan of the whole emulator box idea, too. I have it boot up, and Kamefu (an emulator front-end for Linux) pops up immediately, with a list of the NES, SNES, and GBA games on the system. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a front-end that supported TG16 and Genesis as well, so those have to be chosen from desktop links. Still, I think it's pretty effective, and entertaining. My fiancee and I had a good session of Dr. Mario the other day...with original NES controllers...It's pretty classic!

Well done, brings back a lot of memories, and maybe even some ideas too :) Cheers for letting us see it grow up into a completed project.

No worries. If anyone decides they want to be fool enough to do a similar project and has any questions, feel free to PM me or post them here, too!

Theres one via based one selling in town for $200, but thats not even close to your build, its pretty old, 256mb of ram, 9gb hard drive, no dvd rom ect. If you where to sell what you have you should be able to get 5-700 or so id say, its less the quality of parts and more the quality of the mod. You did a really good job of putting it all together and I really like the idea of the nintendo controllers routed to USB, its to bad those slots dont support Snes controllers too =(

EDIT: Now you should build one of those giant NES controller coffee tables! That would make this the absolute coolest build ive seen, those giant controllers make for some wicked drunken multi player games ;)
