Before the question arises, yes I'm still unemployed.

The recent sale of my MacBook Pro($1200) is partly funding this, I still have one of my 4870X2 that I have not sold yet, I never got around to selling my 1200Watt or 850Watt PSU and I still have the majority of my watercooling parts.

Heh, you don't got to justify it if you ask me.

I'm curious what on earth you're doing with double those things, do you have a dual socket board I've not seen?

Total Spent Thus far: $1337.41 - (no joke, I thought it was hilarious when I saw the total)

I haven't bought/paid for the motherboard yet, I'm looking at getting the SuperMicro X8DAi or the X8DAH+. While I would LOVE to have the X8DAH+, I don't think I can justify spending the extra $150 or so, I'm penny pinching as much as is possible here.

Looks like a neat project, you should be able to do some serious Rosetta crunching with that rig...

Thats going to be one nice rig. Got anything special in mind for it, or just using it as an everyday pc?

Behemoth vs Chaos? Whom shall win??? lol... Well, your i7 -based Xeons Better win, considering Behemoth is using Barcelona-core Opterons that are around 2-3 years old now. If/when I can afford 4x Istanbul Opterons... we'll have round two Awsome project sir! Nice to see another person as ing crazy as me!
