You are correct TopDogZero.

Ideally they should be insulated yes , but this system is a very lossy one.I really don't mind if they bleed heat off......All part of the trials....If I can get it to run sealed at 80C I have no problem with that. I fully expect temps to go up.

-----

Case plate rough-in ;

------------

-----

Lotta hardware so far : This is only the mobo and cpu thermal path /casemounts mount's worth ;

-----

CPU thermal path complete :

--------

It's currently running idle at 44 c ......No thermal Interface Material.

-----------

I've also gotten some work done on the northbridge thermal path.

The NB on this motherboard is a 'ceramic die' type chip so it needs a 'gasket' for the chip-heatsink interface ......

Let's make a proper thermal gasket !

----------

More soon.

Probably not.

There are no holes for mounts , so ....

It's a fairly passive mobo as it is tho.

------------

Back case holes cut , NB thermal path mount done.

------

HDD mounted , LED holes drilled ;

--------

NB gasket :

I sanded this mother fckr to within microns........took me 8 hours ;

-----------

CPU and NB thermal paths installed :

------

Up and running .....LCD controller running , software installs proceeding.

------------

I'm letting it run overnight.It's currently @ 51 c.......

Can you feel any warmth on the surface of the case?

Nice brain! Now, if its supposed to be gas tight, how are you going to fix the cabling issue?
