Hehe.
When I do thermal work like this , I use commercial silicone based thermal compound.I only use Arctic silver on my new cpu's when I dont wanna lap stuff , and need the gap filler.
------------
I've fabricated the "Enhanced thermal standoffs" .
They start out as a 1/2" long , double flared piece of 1/4" copper tube. :
-----
They then get hammered reasonably flat , then sanded :
----
These spacers take the place of the motherboard's standoffs.....they actually get installed with thermal compound .....
Of course I don't have the right bolts (ffs) , but I am working on getting the mobo at least temporarily mounted.......
-----
I've got the northbridge heatsink redesigned....I'll be fabbing it tomorrow....I'm pretty sure I've got the southbridge and video taken care of as well.
