My System Specs

Default Hard disk benchmarks!

Again, this is running 4x Seagate 7200.12s, each short stroked to 10% capacity (50Gb each) then all put into a RAID 0 in my boards LSI SAS controller:

ATTO:

HDTune:

HDTach:

Enjoy!

Slaying 2TB of storage to only 200GB to get that much speed is quite the sacrifice... The overall performance gain is stunning though. Would be nice to see a RAID 0 vs RAID 0 short-stroke... with your configuration.

You know just to get how performance you actually gain by doing this!

Side note:

For any other Multi-CPU users out there, be aware! Not all of your board's features tie into CPU1. I kept wondering why couldn't get my Xonar DX to work on my board. But take a look at the block diagram:

Notice that CPU1 connects to the MCP55 Pro Northbridge and has control of approximate half the PCI-express lanes. The OTHER PCIexpress lanes are all connected to the IO55 chip, and one of the slots being controlled by those lanes in the slot in which my Xonar DX is installed, hehe. SLI probably would'nt have worked too well either, lol. Just some food for thought for any fellow multi-cpu guys.

Bah.... that would involve breaking the raid array, connecting all 4x hdds to the regular sata controller, resetting the capactiry with seatools, then reattached the 4x hdds to the SAS controller, rebuilding the array then reinstalling windows and benching again, lol....

So, it wasn't the "dreaded" Hackflag issue eh? (Like us, 680i owners)

I want results! Hahaha, I don't it`s a pain, but didn't you put those in RAID 0 before? You remember how much throughput you had?

LOL! Nope, not quite. Just with no CPU2 installed, that whole half of the board is turned off. (And we were just starting to connect....)

Oh man that sucks. Luckily even if I went with a dual chipset motherboard like the X8DAH+, there is a direct qpi link between both chipsets so that I still have access to all features when only one CPU is installed.

Hopefully you get those CPU coolers soon

Seriously. This would be the funniest thing ever. I'm totally phoning Somalia right now to see if my good friend Abdi Abdikarim can work anything out, I wanna see CM go ballistic! LOL
