ETA for the freezones could be as early as Monday/Tuesday (I'll be plurging for the rush shipping cause I'm impatient now, hehe). So by next week Behemoth could be a "100% powa!"

I was muuuuuchly tired last night after rebuilding this monster, but did manage to get a couple quick HDTune benches. Approx 260Mbps average read so far, not bad considering all 4 Seagates were just over $200. I'll install ATTO and get a bench for you tonight if i get the chance!

Folding will be a big yes! It's one of the primary reasons for building this hulking monster. A quick overview....

Behemoth Roles (in no order):
Gaming (Duh... )
Folding
Encoding using Handbrake or other multi-threaded application
Transcoding over the network using FFDshow (supports 8 threads! woohoo!)
Rendering using Blender (later on, I'm planning on getting back into making 3D models/maps)
... just to name a few.

And the best part? I'll probably be able to do several of the above at the same time!

Quite the build you got. Hopefully this board will last. Sucks that your whole build was delayed for a defective motherboard.

Can't wait to see it in action!

RAM drive power...... once you start using them, your short stroked raid0 will seem slow. :)

@matsta31: One of the other reasons for this project was to show people with with some time and effort and not an insane amount of cash you can build a powerful server or workstation. When I post the final cost of the whole system, I'm sure some people will be surprised!

It would be if it was comprised of 256 MB sticks.

It's not about amount , It's about making the mobo look populated.

...I am of course just kidding.

Great project.....'Behemoth' is certainly an apt name. You'll have to weigh it when it's complete.
