My new monitor...
 

I picked up a Dell 3007 the other day...used...I love CL!! $750!!!

the open window is the size of a 24!!! (sorry about the site!)

WOW! That thing is massive! I'd love to get a 30inch monitor, but I cant justify spending that much on the screen, and the amount I would need for a second GPU. Have fun with your 30inch gaming

I heard the pr0n is much more realistic on a 30" screen... :)

I love mine. I still have a couple years left in my "completecare" warranty...I'll be returning mine as teh backlight has started to bleed through the corners a bit...and mine starts a high-pitched whine when it gets hot.

I'm very interested to hear how games work for you @ 2560x1600, on that nV platform...

oh cadaveca i ahve this monitor and gaming is amazing on it. i don't have any problems gaming at 2560x1600 unless of course i crank of teh AA to 16x then it starts to lag.

Yeah, most titles are ok, but many have issues on the ATI-side of things. I'm actually finding a single 4870 is good for most now though, even with 4xAA. 2 more generations of VGAs, and 2560x1600 should be flawless, IMHO.

But I've had mine for 18 months, and at the beginning, oh, the pain it brought to my gaming...

ahh well i don't use ati right now mainly becuase i got a good price on my 9800gx2 when i bought it.

Last night I tried out Mirror's Edge and COD4...

In Mirror's Edge, I was getting a solid 70fps with 4xaa and everything else on it's highest settings. And, I got motion sickness!! SWEET!!! It was awesome. The sense of being "involved" in the game was overwhelming.

COD4---without bragging, my video cards eat COD4 for breakfast...and the higher res didn't make much difference!! WELL over 150fps. Again, with everything cranked.

This is with the Nvidia control panel stuff at default, only playing with in game settings.

Tonight I'm going to tweak the colors on the monitor a bit, drop the brightness a bit, and see if it looks any better...not that it looks bad, I'd just like to get the most out of my investment.

I can't say this enough, this is the single best upgrade I've made. Period!
