man, your new colour scheme and setup looks dope! But I don't think that would work for me either. Within a day I'd have to replace the ram and vid card, as I have an extremely bad habit of slouching and resting my legs underneath the computer desk. I even rest my leg on top of my computer case when I have it underneath. (warming up your bare legs on a cold night hehehe)

oh and nice router choice :D gl?

I like it, but I can't believe your vrm and RAM stay cool with that setup. What kind of temps do you get there?

I dream of a rig with a lot of rad and very low speed fans for near silence. One day I will build it.

Of course, I game with 5.1 Headphones (Tritton AX360) so I don't hear my rig so much.

The ddr3 memory, 1600mhz@1.55v never gets hotter than barely warm to the touch. This is a product of the ram itself as the Mushkin redline ddr2 1000@ 2.05v got way hotter than these.

VRM's top out at 65c, better than most people are saying about the evga x-58, the vrms are overclocked up to 1067kbs too.

When you are open air with heat rising upwards you get very good cooling with only a bit of air movement.

I've never come close to kicking this rig.

BTW, the sharp Aqous 37" 1080p lcd on the wall is absolutely fantastic. Way better than squinting at the 24" from a foot away I had before. The perfect distance for great immersion and zero eye strain for gaming. In fact, I get no eye strain and no longer wear reading glasses all day when I do work on it too.

It's an old version 2 non gl, the one with 16mb of ram. Loaded with the dd-wrt version with built in vpn. I can access my NAS from anywhere in the world.

Really? I use a 32in 720p lcd tv and it makes me nauseous. For gaming its bearable but for surfing and reading text I cannot look at the screen for more than an hour. I read somewhere that tv's are much brighter than monitors

How far away is it from you? I tried a 26" 720p lcd years ago and didn't like it either.

they may be brighter than monitors at factory defaults but you should calibrate them anyways.

what ya use to calibrate em? I used the THX thing, and i still have a headache when i use it. It must be the pixel density. Comparatively monitors have much higher pixel densities than TVs. I find myself having to concentrate to read some texts.

Probably about time for me to buy a monitor haha, but I just can't seem to go back to a smaller screen, especially not after using something so big as a monitor.

Nice setup there, Squeetard!

And to anyone who wants to have a similar setup to his, the first step is to buy one of my LCDs. http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum...1080p-4-a.html
