Cable management? Mountain Mods? What's that? My own personal peeve are their HDD holders, which are quite possibly the WORST design out there for anyone wanting to minimize noise and vibration from their drives. Can't believe they haven't come out yet with a modified version with a little bit of silicon or rubber cushioning.

Thanks, Bab...sorry, I forgot who posted it when I replied here! LOL
The 1/2" barbs on the fittings from the Depot are SLIGHTLY smaller than the plastic ones, but all that means is you have to tighten the worm clamps a bit more....

I took one of the video cards apart today....

this is all the TIM crap under the case...ick

Here it is all cleaned up...

And with the GPU waterblock in place...I'm putting some ram sinks too cool the RAM...who knows, maybe one day when I get some more $$$ I'll get some full coverage blocks!

This is the pile of stuff I started with today:

THEN...I put the rad and pump/res in place....

The i placed the mobo (only a couple of screws for now, just to get all my lengths right)

and another shot, different angle...

So, the next step (tomorrow) is to take apart the old case, and, with any luck, have this thing up and running by dinner time (COD4 tourney tomorrow night!!)

Stick around...more to come!

Oh, and before you ask...
the flow is like this:
pump/res-->Bottom GPU-->CPU-->Top GPU-->rad-->and back to the pump/res.

I know it's an odd configuration, but it's because I didn't want to put too much kink into the tubing between the GPUs. A couple of friends and I did this a couple of years ago, and switched it around, it made about 1c difference at the CPU. No big deal really.

More to come!

gotta love the 'Thermal GUM' Stock cooling...... sigh. One thing to keep in mind when your modding your cooling on the vid cards. It's something a friend and I have noticed as the cards are getting longer. By pulling off the stock cooling rig you in turn make the card more prone to warping and bending which in turn can affect performance.

My personal opinion is that loop order and mutliple loops are completely over rated -- to me the key is simple: minimize tubing! The shorter the length used, the better. Temps will regulate over time, and the most difference you'll see should be ~1-2 degrees thoughout the entire loop.

If you're worried about kinks, bitspower makes compression fittings, 45 degree and 90 degree extensions that will allow you to avoid any kinks or tubing problems.

On that note, have you used that Koolance RP-1000 before? If so, what kind of results did you get? It's such a nice looking, clean unit... but at ~$300 a pop, I hope the results are decent.

Good luck.
