Ghetto Black Mesa Build

My 12 year old is getting his rig updated for Christmas . It's pretty low end compared to most here, but as most builds go they never turn out a simple as they start.
It's an E4300 with 2g Crucial in a Gigabyte 945 Mobo, 500 seagate, evga 8800GTS and a Black Chrome Mushkin 550W modular..
I had a bunch of old solid steel cases lying about so I thought I'd go "dirty" with this build 'case the kid is a Half-life freak and I'm hoping the Black Mesa mod is going to be out early in the new year

This is the case I started with.

Next step was to paint the Black Mesa Logo on the right side panel, I also "rusted" the whole case with 2 part rust paint from Micheals

I put a 120mm fan blowing out the front with an aluminum mesh cover and mesh from a speaker grill over the 3 1/2 drive bays so cool air can enter over the drives.
I also installed an old lighted fuel gauge with a resistor on the sensor side so it comes up a bit when the rig is powered on.

Industrial window rubber out of an old Madill Yarder holds the new window in.
A three color LCD and the green lighted 120mm on the PSU light it up..
I may move the lights around if I get time before tomorrow.

The taps a nice touch

The tap actually went on the side of an old fire extinguisher that I had mounted in the bottom of the case, unfortunately the video card turned out to be a little larger than I anticipated so now I have a freshly emptied and painted (Orange of course) tank sitting on my desk..

Wow that some painting "3 of 7".. Sweet mod.. A little cable management, and cold cathodes inside can totally change the look of it you know. First thing I would do is get rid of that ribbon PATA cable and use a rounded one. And clean out the cables right under the hdd cage.

But nonetheless, it looks sweet honestly..

I've got a rounded IDE cable around here somewhere but I can't locate it of course! The cables under the HD cage feed the fuel gauge on the front fascia and it goes on after the sides, so I have to feed the wires in as I snap it on... I haven't figured that one out yet...
I have a plastic covered shower hose, you know the ones that look like chrome conduit? I may do some cable management yet but it's tough to do with the kids out and about and it's too dirty in my shed to work on it with the components in it..
