Keep your HT between 800 & 1000 (should be fine with the X4 you had before).

It sounds like you're jumping right in with the OCDB settings.... those are only a guideline, there is no guarantee you'll be able to run at them... the venice core doesn't have the best mem controller so you may find you need to back off on some of the settings.
Yeah start slow here BALISTX dont try dive into a bunch of settings if your not real familer with them, plus thats the fun part working all those little things to get a better overclock.

Since this is my first OC I'm not familar with all the terminology. What exactly do I need to set the mem timings to regarding the following:

Tcl - Auto (1.5 - 4.5)
Trcd - Auto (00 - 7)
Tms - Auto (00 - 15)
Trp - Auto (00 - 7)
Trc - Auto (07 - 22)
Trfc - Auto (09 - 24)
Trrd - Auto (00 - 7)
Twr - Auto (02 - 03)
Twtr- Auto (01 - 02)
Twrt - Auto (01 - 02)
Trct - Auto (1553 / 2064 / 2592 / 3120 / 3632 / 4128 / 4612 / 0064 / 0776 / 1032 / 1296 / 1560 / 1816 / 2064 / 2336 / 0032 / 0388 / 0516 / 0648 / 0780 / 0908 / 1032 / 1168 / 0016 / 2048 / 2056 / 3072 / 3684 / 4196 / 4708 / 028
Twcl - Auto (01 - 08)

My stock timings are 2-3-3-5 . My memory is rev. 1

I've read guides and i've come out more confused then going in. I need all the help I can get. Also should I leave everything else on stock? If not what should I change and about lowering the volts what volts should I lower to what?

As for increasing the FSB should I do it incriments of 10?

Leave most of the mem timing on auto for now, but set the top 4 at 3-3-3-5 to start.

I'd go up by 10 FSB up to 240 and then switch to 5 after that.

Between each bump, do a quick stability test with something like super-pi, and when you think you're getting close to a major point (like 240) run 3dmark `03 on it as well as a short prime95 (30 minutes for a major point).

i have play more then enough with my 3000+ to get it @ 2.6Ghz with my el cheapo corsair VS stuff and i would start from there :

all stock, mem set @ stock timing - save exit, then save those setting in the CMOSA reloaded

then put ram/fsb divider and start clocking the cpu

those stick are good to about 230Mhz i have personnaly clock a opty 165 @ 2.7 with those mem @ around 240mhz

with the ram on a divider lleast say 3/4 you will be abble to hit 267FSb on your cpu and still run your meme @ stock speed (200mhz)

once you have found the max of your cpu

put the cpu multi to 6 and start upping the FSB, now you will find the max ofyour ram

after this is complete try to hit max am speed with max cpu speed

I will give that a shot. I have the formula to figure out which divider to select at the specific FSB.

Default sure that board will work nicely

good that the board lets you set a specific divider number-this asus an32 just gives you fixed frequency options 133, 186, 200 etc fo the RAM *FSB you should be able to work the RAM pretty well..

Yep I should be on the OCZ Forums they said that ram is good for at least 230 MHz at timings of 2.5-3-3-8

If I want to find out the max OC for my FSB, should I set the memory divider to the lowest of 1/02 . If this is the case then for my first goal of 240 FSB by memory should be according to the following formula.

Memory Frequency= (FSB x CPU Multi) / (CPU Multi x HTT:FSB Ratio)

Memory Frequency= (240 x 10) / (10 x 02/1)

Memory Frequency= 2400 / (10 x 2)

Memory Frequency= 2400 / 20

Memory Frequency= 120 MHz

Here is my plan of action.

Set the memory down to 1/02 divider so the memory is operating at its lowest settings. Leave all the voltage at stock settings. Slow increase the FSB in increments of 10, each time running Super PI for stability test. Once I have reached an FSB of 240 I will run Prime95 for a few hours to see how stable it is, if all goes well I will start to increase again the FSB by 10 leaving the memory still at a 1/02 divider and running Super PI for each increase until I reach my second goal and possibly final goal of 270 FSB. At that point I will run Prime 95 for 3 hours then increase the memory divider to one that will give me close to or if not let me run my memory at 200Mhz. Or should I just increase the memory divider before I run Prime95?
